Ok, so with this official, what if DJ gets reinstated? Would he be out a certain number of games too?
Dion is more than likely going to be reinstated. Hope these two get their act together. Josh Gordon SHOULD have a Dez Bryant/AJ Green type of contract by now if it wasn't for marijuana. It's ridiculous really, costing himself about 40 million guaranteed money over weed.
I dunno why Dion would miss additional games, I believe Gordon messed up again while suspended no? Or at the very least wasn't handling himself well hanging around with Manziel
Most expect DJ to be fully reinstated. I believe Gordon had a positive test while suspended. I actually think Goodell is cutting him a break.
The Browns are probably the worst team in the league, but it is a break for us since we won't face him, while all three of our div rivals will.
He tested for a diluted sample, meaning he drank a lot of water before the test and had trace amounts of marajuana (far below the threshold) in the same test so it's more bs. Given how often he is tested I think it's safe to say he doesn't do weed ever as it stays in the system for a long time. The man's career has been taken away from him because Goodell is an idiot
His career has been taken away from him because he is an idiot. He was dumb enough to get caught. These guys know the testing routine...
Exactly. The rules are what they are and everyone knows it. If a player cannot follow them, then he doesn't deserve to play.
When guys like Mike Pouncey don't get caught by testing, the working assumption has to be you're an idiot if you get caught.
Agreed, we need a sticky thread on the latest techniques to avoid these potential pitfalls of the one thing that 80% of the league does. Pouncey could trailblaze (haha) an underground railroad to freedom with his savvy test passing ways.
I don't care if people smoke weed or not. I personally dont. If the NFL makes it legal or illegal does not affect what I think of the player. I cant possibly imagine how smoking 300-400 degree smoke into your body is healthy, but Im not a doctor nor scientist. My point is, if the rule says you cant smoke weed, youre getting paid millions for having this job, dont smoke weed. If the rule says dont drink orange juice, dont drink orange juice. Every employer has their rules, and the NFL pays you a ton of money to play a game on the field. It's a privilege, respect their rules, respect the law (domestic violence, etc), and dont get caught.
I have the exact same opinion. I support legalizing pot. I don't hold it against anyone I know if they smoke it. But if its against the rules for your job, then you don't do it. Plain and simple. You do, you get punished, and you deserve it.
it is pretty much against the rules across the board with the exception of a few states, thus I would hold it against someone for smoking. Like for instance I don't want my kids smoking it
I mean he's BEEN suspended. That's where DJ has been. I don't see how he can be reinstated and suspended further..ly (is that a word...age?). I mean that would kinda be like electrocuting the felon then resuscitating him to drown him. Well ok, we can do that if Brady commits a crime but otherwise it's a bit of overkill.
