My prediction is that Jordan will be playing for the 49er's before the regular season begins. I just don't see things working out for him in Miami. Unless he comes in and lights it up from the beginning of camp, I think the FO will see what they can get in a trade for him. Since the Eagles were about to trade for him before him last suspension and Kelly is now in San Francisco, they are the one team who might be willing to trade a late round pick for Jordan.

your prediction sucks JW..sorry..jmo...I dont even talk to teams now that he's on the right path, you dont let talent at that hi level walk at 26 if the head is on right on..sounds like it is..dion stock is up...dont even talk about a trade unless your packing some heat.

Im really excited..I need a drink.

so when he was hiding that shoulder injury and adding weight like he was told, he was taking painkillers, drinking..he lost himself...I get that..I forgive him, he's been thru a lot in life, and is reminded by every day when he looks in the mirror at his body being scarred.

Dion jordan on a mission...That type of athletic ability with an edge....yes please..

we just added another first round pick to our defense...

ok the exciting part, so he's around 268 lbs from what the article said and has only been working out 2 months..lets see we got 2 months before camp starts, Ithink we can expect him to lose another 12 to 15 lbs, which would bring him around 252-255..Then, a full camp in miami, another 5 lbs...lets say 250....exactly where we want him...I need another drink..holy bleep...this is really happening.

can you imagine Dion Jordan..Suh..Wake..Phillips..Williams..Jones..Kiko ..Ifo..

    speaking of Kiko and Ifo...

this oregon connection/trio is quite the story..could you imagine if they all become stars on our team...''The quack attack baby"'

I agree with DJ. Trading him for a low round pick would be pretty dumb. Get him to play the Leo position.

ugggh, I can't wait for prohibition to end.

Working out for only two months after being out of the league for more than one season is encouraging to you?

I'm most interested to hear the coaching staff comment on Jordan after he is reinstated.
Who knows what the plan is for him.... Linebacker? DE seems pretty deep right now, but that group is lacking youth.

your right its going to be hard, when the body is neglected like his was, its not gonna come back in 4 months, he's gonna have to get to 250 lbs to be his best with fluid explosive movement..but i aint given up on a rare talent who's been thru this.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/video/dion-jordans-dedication-nfl-dream-045900525.html

bring him in slowly, let him chase the ball when he's on the field, dont pigeon hole him, let him run and chase.

lets just continue to look long term here..he's a dolphin, he's ours..he can come back, I understand the time frame.

Play him at the Leo until Williams or Wake fizzles, then put him at DE...

We are super deep at DE right now, but I have a hard time believing after Gase has stressed versatility that Dion won't be accepted as the most versatile defensive player we have.

I mean, the Pats still have Gronkowski, right?

I just don't think he's a good football player, he wasn't all that great in college, and when he came here, his good plays were few and far in between.

I also don't think he's self motivated, he didn't start getting in shape until a couple months ago, he's been taking the easy way so far in his career.

I expect nothing from him, so if we get something I'll be pleasantly surprised.

There are a lot of athlete's that have had a rough life, and it's a shame, but that isn't a measuring factor, the team isn't going to give him a break because of that, and Derek Wake stories are very rare, so I'm just not counting on anything, if he plays well I'll be happy.

Why did he wait three months to apply for reinstatement?

    http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...n-within-window-to-request-reinstatement.html

I haven't seen anything that indicates he has any desire to actually play football. Pick up the check? Sure. Play football? Not really.

Said this last month, if he's been training how for the last 12-15 months HARD, I would be encouraged. But if he just been NOW getting into shape, why bother? He's still the same character before he got suspended.

no, there is not a lot of players that have walked in those shoes.a few yes..

if you dont like his game thats fine.

No, Pete Bommarito from Bommarito’s Performance Systems posted at the beginning of the year that DJ was working hard on coming back. Kiko Alonso said the same thing about Jordan back in March after we signed him.

DJ changed trainers from Bommarito's to this SF based Tareq Azim character a month or so ago, and that's when they started posting the pics and workout clips, but if you follow the tweets and comments, DJ's been focused on coming back and working out since at least January, NOT the past 2 months.

I also think the past coaching staff was partly to blame..I know that he hid an injury, would bet money on it, I saw him injure it and try to hide it....so he was probably loading up on pills to hide the pain..but the morons were telling him to gain weight in the process.

philbin should get his *** kicked..

Late coming to the conversation - but, as with most kids who jump the wrong way right of the bat - it depends on whether he's got his head on straight or not. I've been around a number of younger kids who augered in while growing up (which really doesn't end til about 25 or so!) Some of them pulled their head out and got going. Some never figured it out - can you spell Childziel.

His bad judgment made him fail his drug tests.

But we'll see. Looks to me like he'd have wanted to get back to the team as quickly as he could so he could get all the classroom and training time in before taking it all in one big dose at training camp. Then again, maybe he wanted to skip all the OTAS and minicamps so he waited for 3 months to apply for reinstatement.

Or to have used the injuries as means to give up on his dreams.

What DJ's getting at is that Dion Jordan could have done like many others and used the injuries as crutch to be a burden to society, or to have given up on ever playing football again. He could have turned out a dozen different ways. Instead, after being told that he would probably never play again, he excelled in HS and College and was widely panned as the best overall defender in the 2013 draft.

Not expecting him to be an All-pro, but if he can come back and boost our LB corp, then bring it on.

I would think he would want to be back but I dont know when this revelation came to..

I realize I'm taking an optimistic approach on the man..I think its the right move considering his story, I want him to turn his life around and ''not waste his talent'' like he explained, because of that story and how hard his life was..and, I want his talent in our uniform.

maybe to jump off a bridge..

pain tolerance dude, emotional and physical, to get that scholarship after, the fortitude to become a top 5 pick..to look at the scars on his body every day and keep going..to do it all with no father and a mother who gave him up at 12.

Took me until about that age to understand the reality of having to eat and look out for someone other than myself, so maybe he's matured.
