Hey all, As the title suggests, I'm from Adelaide, South Australia. First interested in NFL in about 1985/86, followed the 49ers, due to 1) Joe Montana 2) Red & White (I'm North Adelaide FC born and bred) Rediscovered my passion for NFL about two years ago. Despite being a 49ers fan when younger, for some reason, I liked the colours of the Dolphins- and you guys had a handy QB, Dan Marino, I think his name was. So, second time round, I decided that I would follow both teams - so I have equal passion for the Dolphins and 49ers. I justify this by having an NFC & AFC team. Have spent a small fortune on Montana/Marino jerseys since. I'm probably one of few that can watch SB 19. My favourite game that I've seen (thanks to YouTube), is the 1993 Thanksgiving Day Classic, v the Cowboys in the snow, with Steve DeBerg in action- famous for Leon Lett turning the ball over back to the Dolphins for a second FG attempt, with 3 seconds to play. I must say I don't like the navy on the jersey- it seems like they're bumping the orange for the navy, and the aqua looks very light... my favourite top I've purchased thus far (and IMO, the best Dolphins top) http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/Kf8AAOSw5IJWcREi/s-l1600.jpg Would love to get over and see a Dolphins game, preferably v the 49ers! And yeah, loved the movie "Ace Ventura" because of 1) Dan Marino/Dolphins 2) Cannibal Corpse!
Welcome aboard! We have a lot of posters from outside the US, so I hope that you feel welcome. How many NFL games are you able to watch?
Welcome to the site ,mate. You dont have to be an expert to participate. In fact we have several members from overseas who have learned the game from this site particularly from our Club forum where we have some very knowledgeable members instructing us.
I get up at 3am on Monday mornings to watch games- we generally get 3 games consecutively, but I head off to work around 9am, excluding playoffs- I take the morning off. Pest Control business owner i watch any games that are on- I'm not fussed who's playing. Although I don get too excited watching Cleveland lol. As for the rules, I learned them young, so I'm an advanced beginner lol.
Not all that different from how a lot of us in the US used to be. In the 90s, I'd generally be able to watch 2 or 3 games on Sunday afternoon, and then the Prime Time games on Sunday and Monday nights. Just whatever the local channel was showing. Watching the Dolphins was a special occasion for me back then.
