Why don't draft publications & sites list players ages and birthdays any longer?

Was there a rule about this that I missed somewhere along the way? It used to be completely standard practice for any NFL draft publication to list a players age, and often birthday, in the information they had about him. However, these days, almost no one does, including most web sites. Yes, the information can be found if you dig for it, but its not as convenient as it used to be. They do sometimes mention it in the text about the player, so it doesn't seem to be against any rules to bring it up.

For me, a player's age is a big deal. Younger players often have more upside than older ones, and older college players sometimes will perform better than their younger peers during their college games simply due to being more physically mature and wiser. As a general rule, Im also pretty much against drafting anyone 24 or older in the first four rounds, since that guy may be used up by the time his second contract rolls around.
