Who do you think will win? (Post replies as to why below).

Also who are you rooting for?

I think the Panthers will win because they are the better all around team offensively and defensively (though it's always a crap shoot and Denver has an amazing defense).

I'm also rooting for the Panthers. Never been a big fan of the Broncos or Manning (though I don't dislike him). But, I also would like to see Cam Newton win a title. Think it would be good for the NFL.

Multiple turnovers by Carolina. Denver plays smart and wins.

Rooting for the Broncos to win as I'd like to see Payton retire with the win.

If the Broncos defense could stop and deny the Pats time and again in the AFCC when the O was doing nothing, then they should be able to handle the Panthers.

I think Panthers win, I like both teams, I like Cam and Manning, I guess I'm leaning slightly towards rooting for Carolina, but I think I won't really know which team I'm rooting for until the game is going.

I am, as always, rooting for a great game.

Which means when you guys die of bacon clogged arteries, I'll be banging your women and using your favorite things to clean off with when I'm done. They'll be all like, "its so nice to have a man that works up a sweat in the bed without smelling like a Burger King fryer at 2:00 am. So what did you bring today, the cucumber or the eggplant? Btw, you can use McLovin's Brady autographed Ugg boot to as a sheath when you're done. He's dead and Brady is a cheater anyway."

Well, I think the Panthers will most likely win the game. But I'd like for the greatest quarterback of all time Peyton (Not Tom Brady) Manning to win one more Super Bowl on his way into retirement. :shifty:

Rooting for Broncos simply for Peyton Manning.
Guy has always been class since day one and one of if not the best all around QB ever IMO.
I think the Panthers win though. Great team on both sides highlighting what is probably the next generation up and coming HOF QB to be.

I think the Panthers will win in a easy one and I'm rooting for them because of the constant disrespect that's thrown at the panthers. They're about to be 18-1 and a good amount of people think they're overrated for some reason.

I really don't care who wins. There are arguments for both teams. It would be nice to see Peyton win and then ride off into the sunset. But it would be nice to see the only team that ran more than it passed win too.

I'm just going for the food.

I hope Peyton wins..i thought he was a nerd until i heard he pulled his junk out in front a trainer in college. Probably not his best audible but worth a shot. What a prude that chick must of been. When a future HOF pulls out his cash and prizes you just go with it dammit.

I don't get it either. This might be one of the best teams in history. They're offense is scoring like crazy and the defense is as good as anyone in the league.

    Totally agree.

I'm from upstate SC. I did my undergrad/grad at Clemson so it's easy for me to root for the Panthers. I think we're all allowed one NFC team to pull for and luckily both Clemson and Carolina made it to the championship games this year. Oh, and I also finally broke through and won 2/3 of my FF leagues. It was a pretty epic football year for me...

...outside of the Dolphins, lol. ;)

I don't really care one way or the other, I would like to see one of the Game's greatest go out a winner but I just think that Carolina is too strong on both sides of the ball to lose. However, I think it would be good for Cam to be served up a dose of humble pie....Carolina in a closer game than people think......I will never care unless it is our Dolphins in the Big Game again.....or to root against the Jets,Bills, or Pats.....lol

It's interesting the pole shows the majority here are rooting for Denver who clearly is the underdog. Wonder of it has anything to do with us being conditioned

If the refs allow Carolina's defense to play thugball, then they create turnovers and win. That simple really...

Can't speak for everyone, but I think like some have pointed out already it's more a desire to see Peyton Manning go out with another SB win than anything else. Certainly is for me. Also would help close the gap perceptually between him and Brady for those that overweight SB wins (IMO those two are 1a and 1b anyway).

Then again, it seems like this new generation of athletic QBs is changing the game. Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton...they've all done enough for their teams to put points on the board and wind up in the Super Bowl. Even Aaron Rodgers was at his most unbeatable when he was a threat to run. The truth is, the game is changing along with these new QBs. It's obvious that it opens a door and makes traditional QBs/offenses somewhat limited. The scary thing is that Newton doesn't need world class receivers. Some of the throws he's making are simply unbelievable. He's absolutely the fuel that makes that offense go. Give him a solid running game and he'll score 30 points regardless of who's around him. Russell Wilson has kind of done the same thing.

I think Dolphins fans will support Denver for several reasons not the least of which is that Peyton is this generation's Dan Marino. Besides that obvious fact, Denver is a more diverse team: great WRs, good RBs, solid O-line, great pass rushers, solid LBs, solid secondary, etc. If you believe football is a team game you should go with Denver.

The truth is though that it takes more than a solid, well-balanced team to win a Super Bowl. It does take a superman. We've seen that. This game is now built for great players to be dominant. Surrounding Ryan Tannehill with great weapons might be the best chance Miami has at getting to a Super Bowl but it's still a bad bet that it ever happens. In reality, what gets you to a Super Bowl (and you've said this yourself Cbrad) is that you're doing something which is virtually unstoppable.

In that regard, you and I both agree that teams need a little magic to get it done. Even though I think Tannehill has a solid career in front of him, winning titles requires stuff that unfortunately not everyone has. Call it luck, call it whatever you want. To that effect, I agree with folks who look at RT's 4k yards as being great, but maybe still not quite enough.

In regards to the game today, Denver is great on defense. Everyone will give them that. The Panthers however are great on both sides. To me, that's the difference and why I'd pick Carolina to win.

usually I root for the underdog in every Super Bowl, but I'm rooting for Panthers in this one. Manning sucks as a QB and is being carried by that great defense. I can't help but root against him getting another ring. Plus, I want to see Mike Shula win a ring too.

I try to pull for the AFC unless it's our hated rivals. But with Carolina being local it'd be nice to see them win. Either way I'm glad I'll get to enjoy it with NE being out.

Honestly don't really care who wins. I know Denver is the sentimental favorite, but Manning already has a SB ring so I'm not all that caught up in that.

In the end I think Denver's defense keeps them close, but Carolina's defense does a better job keeping the QB in check. Carolina 19-14.
