Rickman passed away last night after suffering from Cancer at age 69. He'd been one of my favorite actors since I was a young man, starting with Die Hard and Robin Hood (which was the first movie I ever went to see without an adult). I loved him in Dogma, Galaxy Quest, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, of course the Harry Potter series, and more. I'm rarely the type to be moved by the death of a celebrity, but Rickman was always a guy I just loved watching, no matter what he was in, with his distinct voice and expressive face.
I first saw him in "Die Hard" too, when I was 16 in 1988. He was so great at being the villain in that movie, and many others. I'm glad we were able to appreciate his talents as an actor. He will be missed, but always remembered.
Enjoyed in a non-villian role in comedy-drama "Bottle Shock" a while back. Fun movie about Cali wine vs French wine back in the 70s...
