http://playstationenthusiast.com/article/our-11-most-anticipated-2016-games/ I in no way agree with the order, as FF15 and Mass Effect are at the top of my personal list, but its a good run down none the less. I've yet to buy AC: Syndicate, so that's next on my personal agenda, but I'm all in on Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted 4, very intrigued about Horizon: Zero Dawn, and curious about No Man's Sky.
The least interesting game on the list to me is Paragon. But probably has a bit to do with me hardly ever (never?) playing MOBAs and little desire to do so..
Most of these are pretty good nominations, but are limited by virtue of being a Playstation site. Personally, I'm more intrigued by Escape From Tarkov than almost anything on this list.
I hadn't ever even seen the term mboa before this. Google tells me it involves mobile online, so no interest on this end.
Looking forward to The Last Guardian and Dark Souls 3. Last Guardian because Team ICO is amazing and Shadow of the Collosus was a unique experience like any other, and Dark Souls 3 needs no explanation. Going to hold off on ME:A until reviews are out, I'm hoping it's an improvement over DA:I
I saw a lot about Shadow of the Collosus on X Play back in the day, but never played it (man, do I miss that show and channel), but Dark Souls is the opposite of what my style is. I would play ME:A sight unseen. Just take my money!
Dark Souls is a fantastic game. It reminds me of an Action RPG 3D version of Super Metroid / Castlevania SOTN. I enjoyed the first more than the second, but I've also been buying Souls games since Demon Souls was released. It's the kind of game that punishes recklessness but rewards calculated play and exploration. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea because it can be hard, but the euphoria you feel from progressing in the same is something special.
Jack Frags has a good video on the mechanics of the game. On mobile now so can't link it but it's titled ultimate survival game. Didn't see The Division on the list either .
Mass Effect is a given (the wife is a HUGE fan). I enjoyed playing the Uncharted collection (the PS4 is my first Sony console since the original Playstation) so Uncharted 4 is also a given. After that, No Man's Sky and Horizon: Zero Dawn are probable purchases. In the 'Maybe' category for me is The Last Guardian. Just these games alone would make for a solid gaming year, but there should be a surprise title or two that I end up wanting to play. Now, I'd trade all of the above for a new football game from 2K Sports, but I'm not holding my breath on that!
Sadly, the NFL and NFLPA both strongly support EA being the only company making football games into the future. At least Madden has gotten slightly and gradually better each of the last few years, after cratering into a smoldering hole in 2007. I don't like 2K at all, but at least they kept EA a little honest.
I subscribe to Jack, so I've seen that video. That's where I heard of Tarkov from. Very interested in it.
http://www.polygon.com/a/2016-game-preview-100-games/introduction-and-video-special This is a good article at another site about the upcoming year in gaming. Not PS4 exclusive, like the other.
Some more info in Tarkov. Might warrant it's own thread soon.
Mass Effect Andromeda apparently delayed until early 2017. http://gamerant.com/mass-effect-andromeda-2017-release-949/
No Man's Sky to release on June 21, will get a full retail edition, and will cost $60. I read a really good article that I had linked through the google app on my phone earlier (while the board was down), but can't find it now. Sorry. I think that the game has moved from a "maybe/wait and see" to one I'm leaning towards now, especially with Mess Effect having been pushed back. I think I'll play Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank and then see where I am in the summer.
http://gamerant.com/cyberpunk-2077-better-bigger-than-witcher-3/ Some info about CD Projekt Red's next game. After the awesomeness of the Witcher 3, I'm very interested. Looks like it'll come out in 2017 at the earliest, which is no surprise.
http://gamerant.com/mass-effect-andromeda-editor-412/ Bioware losing another member of the Mass Effect team. Looks like she was also involved in the Dragon Age series. That studio is just losing people left and right lately.
Yeah, I did a pre-order with Amazon, which got me the No Man's Sky Limited Edition for only $63.99 (down from $80) with free shipping (thanks to the the wife being a Prime Member). I can see the wife and I putting 200+ hours into playing this game. Is that going to be total hours or 200+ each? I don't know, but the size of the game is just insane. If development goes badly, I could see the next ME game being called 'Mess Effect'.
As I said, I'm very intrigued about No Man's Sky, but I'm still taking a cautious approach to it. I want to see more before I decide. That's especially true because I just plain don't play first person perspective games, but would be breaking with that to get into it.
http://gamerant.com/mass-effect-andromeda-story-leaks/ Taken with a grain of salt, some more info on Mass Effect Andromeda. It seems to indeed be taking some cues from DA: Inquisition in a sort of open world route.
