Hey Everyone, Just like the title says, my coworkers house burned down last night. She lost her home, all her belongs and two cars that belonged to her two sons. One of my coworkers set up a go fund me page for her and so far we have raised over 2K just from our peers alone. Having your house burn down is about as hard as it gets, let alone having it happen during the holidays. I wanted to post the page here, and panhandle for tips in the event that anyone may be willing to help. No, she's not a Pats fan. She is recently divorced and supports two grown kids in college who live with her. here's the page: https://www.gofundme.com/5mege4pw thanks everyone.
Any idea what caused this? If nothing else it raises an eyebrow for awareness of things people can do to be more cautious at home.
that sucks. Guy that works for me burned down a good portion of his house this summer - his wife was frying french fries on the stove. left the burner on after removing the fries and then went shopping. His mother and daughter were upstairs and were lucky to get out unharmed. Does your coworker not have a good insurance plan that can at least cover some of the interim costs (housing, ...)?
