Here's links to the growing rosters: Shrine Game 1-23-16 4pm ET http://www.shrinegame.com/en/Teams/Acceptances NFLPA Bowl 1-23-16 6pm ET http://collegiate.nflpa.com/player-commitments/ Senior Bowl 1-30-16 2:30pm ET http://www.seniorbowl.com/accepted-invites.php
Wow. This is effing awful. The Senior Bowl QBs are Carson Wentz, Jeff Driskel, Jacoby Brissett, Dak Prescott and Jacob Coker. It remains to be seen if Connor Cook will accept (he probably won't). Jeff Driskel and Jacob Coker. Seriously. No Brandon Doughty, Kevin Hogan, Matt Johnson, Trevone Boykin, Cody Kessler.
Looking forward to watching DBs Harlan Miller & Deiondre' Hall at the Senior Bowl. Hall will also play in the East/West. Both are physical. Hopefully our new scheme will call for the DBs to line up closer to the line of scrimmage. Miller has outstanding ball skills & when the rock is in his hands it seems he tries to score every time.
In the Shrine Game i'm looking forward to seeing more of LB T.Smith out of FSU and two of my sleepers in DE Matt Judon & CB Mike Jordan.
They apparently changed the QBs. Now they list Brissett, Driskel, Hogan, Kessler, Prescott, Wentz. No Coker now, but Hogan and Kessler added.
More players added for the NFLPA Bowl: Tylor Harris, DL, Wake Forest Sione Houma, RB, Michigan Reggie Northrup, LB, Florida State Trip Thurman, OL, Florida Plus here's a player profile for Ian Seau(Junior's nephew) http://collegiate.nflpa.com/player-profile-ian-seau-de-nevada/ RIP Junior Seau
The Tropic Bowl was played yesterday 1/17/16 at North Miami Athletic Stadium but wasn't televised nor live streamed. Yeah, most of them are long-shot prospects but you never know... Anyway @NFLDraftBlitz tweeted info about the game.
"we talkin bout Practice" Shrine Game practices Mon - 1/18/16 From WFootball: East Team "...Arkansas State tight end Darion Griswold made some tough catches and used his size to shield defenders from the ball. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder showed nice concentration to tip an inaccurate pass to himself with a linebacker bearing down on him." "Florida State linebacker Terrance Smith had a nice day. He was fast, flying around the field and was physical with offensive players. He had a pass broken up with some nice coverage defending tight ends and backs in the flat." "A sleeper prospect to watch on this team is Stony Brook defensive end Victor Ochi. His first-step quickness was impressive as he exploded off the snap with a great get-off. Ochi (6-2, 255) still is very raw and needs development." http://www.walterfootball.com/eastwest2016practice1.php West Team "...offensive lineman Ted Karras G had a strong first day" "held his own in the one-on-ones and stonewalled some pass-rushers. Karras used athleticism and his hands to sustain a block and ride Virginia tackle David Dean around the pocket." " A safety who looked pretty good in the seven-on-seven session was Michigan State's R.J. Williamson. Williamson had close coverage on a deep route downfield" http://www.walterfootball.com/eastwest2016practice2.php
I'd try to draft Ted Karras late on just pedigree alone. His great uncle, Alex, was one of the best DTs in NFL history.
Apparently at the Shrine practices we met with Arizona State cornerback Lloyd Carrington, Illinois guard Ted Karras, and USC linebacker Anthony Sarao. http://www.walterfootball.com/eastwest2016interviews4.php The players were in full pads on Tuesday. "defensive end Victor Ochi continued to grab attention. While Ochi is undersized as an edge rusher, he is very fast off the line with some functional upper body strength. Ochi weighed below 250 pounds in the mid 240s, and therefore he is a better fit as a developmental 3-4 outside linebacker. Ochi is on his way to making himself some money this week." http://www.walterfootball.com/eastwest2016practice3.php
I live here in Oviedo Florida and have watched both Jeff Driskel and Blake Bortles play each other and other teams. Driskel thought he was all world in HS because every big name college was knocking at his door. People in Jeffs camp were offended when you mentioned them together. He chose to go to the University of Florida while Blake had to accept staying home and attending the University of Central Florida. It's funny how things worked out. Blake is now one of the young and up and coming QB stars in the NFL, and Jeff is a former college QB.
Mayock's Shrine Game Day 3 observations: "Arkansas State TE Darion Griswold: He had a really nice day. Griswold ran good routes and made a really nice catch on a Y seam between good coverage. I think he opened some eyes again today." "South Florida safety Jamie Byrd: He's only listed at 185 pounds. He's got some quickness but he's undersized. Fun to watch." "Colorado OT Stephane Nembot: He didn't play much high school football, and went to Colorado as a defensive end and got moved to tackle, so he's hardly played football. But he's 6-7, 320, with good feet as a former basketball player. He has no clue what he's doing, but he's a raw, developmental prospect and that's what this game's all about." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000626082/article/eastwest-shrine-game-day-3-observations
"Four years ago, a little-known cornerback who was light against the run and lacked top-tier competition, kept necks craning during East-West Shrine Game practices." "When the week finally wrapped, this largely unknown cornerback from Coastal Carolina had created an opportunity. This NFL season, Josh Norman became a first-team All Pro and one of the best defensive backs in the league." 5 standouts heading into East-West Shrine Game Javon Hargrave, DT, South Carolina State Graham Glasgow, OC/OG, Michigan Victor Ochi, DE, Stony Brook (N.Y.) De'Vondre Campbell, OLB, Minnesota Dean Lowry, DE, Northwestern http://sports.yahoo.com/news/5-standouts-heading-into-east-west-shrine-game-192258756.html
"Reggie Ragland and highly-touted defensive lineman Jarran Reed of Alabama have both accepted invitations to the 2016 Reese’s Senior Bowl." http://www.seniorbowl.com/news-highlights-detail.php?news=450 ESPN set to televise practices http://www.seniorbowl.com/news-highlights-detail.php?news=451
Wow. DE Shawn Oakman was projected to be a top 5, top 10 at worst pick leading up to the 2015 draft. He chose to go back to school but played better in '14 than last season. Now at least 1 site(cbs sports) projects him sliding all the way to the 3rd rd. There were reports that he was top-heavy but sometimes that doesn't matter. However, after looking at this pic @JohnFarmen Shawn Oakman skips leg day.. A lot. He's going to be pushed all over the field in the pros.
Victor Ochi. that dude was very impressive. Reminded me of Jason Taylor getting off the edges so fast.
Defensive back Deiondre’ Hall makes a big impression "There are five defensive backs at this year’s Senior Bowl from the FCS ranks. And aside from stellar college careers, they share one common trait: They’re all 6’0” or taller." "Northern Iowa’s Deiondre’ Hall measured in Tuesday at 6’1” and change, right on par with Southern Utah’s Miles Killebrew and Samford’s James Bradberry (both 6’1”), and just on top of Southeast Louisiana’s Harlan Miller and William & Mary’s DeAndre Houston-Carson (both 6’0”)." "But none of those players elicited the response Hall did from the huddled masses of scouts, coaches, GMs and journalists" "It wasn’t Hall’s height or weight (192) that had folks buzzing. Rather, it was his arm length (34 3/4”) and wingspan (a staggering 82 3/8”)." "Even if he winds up with like a fourth-round grade, someone will take him a round or two higher because of his size,” a scout told me. “Everyone wants to find the next Richard Sherman." http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/01/26/senior-bowl-day-1-deiondre-hall
@TonyPauline Spoke with the Raiders about the DBs. Harlan Miller, James Bradberry, Darian Thompson & Miles Killebrew impressed them most. Well, my Fins could use these DBs too Tony. @TonyPauline Graham Glasgow/G/Michigan just stopped Jarran Reed/DL/Alabama dead in tracks on back to back plays. @TonyPauline 11 hours ago Mobile, AL I'm told the hopes are Jaylon Smith's recovery time line will run parallel Cedric Oghuehi's, who was ready midway through the season. @TonyPauline 9 hours ago Mobile, AL Carson Wentz/QB/NDSU showing impressive ball speed and arm strength in the adverse weather conditions today. Ball cutting through wind.
Senior Bowl: Wednesday Practice Report: South Team "Duke safety Jeremy Cash had a phenomenal day. The physical safety was all over the field in pass coverage and also showed well as a blitzer. To get his impressive day started, Cash used his speed to burn Arkansas State tight end Darion Griswold for a sack. Cash was all over the field on Wednesday, and this practice could really help his draft grade." "(Reggie) Ragland did well overall. He beat Northwestern's Dan Vitale with a speed-to-power rush. Ragland ran over another blocker, and was his usual physical self in the team scrimmage. In pass coverage" "Baylor tackle Spencer Drango struggled in the pass-protection one-on-ones - BYU's Bronson Kaufusi toasted him with a speed rush for a sack. Virginia Tech's Dadi Nicolas burned Drango for a sack of Jacob Coker in the team scrimmage as well. This week has made it crystal clear that Drango has to move inside to guard in the NFL." "Nicolas had an impressive pass rush where he used his speed to split a double team from Texas Tech left tackle Le'Raven Clark and Alabama running back Kenyan Drake to get a sack. Nicolas struggles when his speed rush is stopped. He has a hard time shedding blocks as he lacks strength. If lineman can get their hands on Nicolas, he's in big trouble. Building some functional strength to shed blocks will be key for Nicolas as a pro, but he is a fast edge rusher who could contribute as a situational player quickly." http://www.walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2016practice3.php
@CFD22 Charles Davis Retweeted Jeremy Lincoln Indeed, he belongs! That buzzing sound from Mobile certainly is for Harlan Miller @poppaC01 - He's been impressive Senior Bowl: Day 3 NFL Media observations "Mike Mayock » I thought the D-line dominated this week. From my perspective, Eastern Kentucky's Noah Spence had the best week of any edge rusher. He's 6-foot-2 1/2, 253 pounds. Who does he remind you of? How about the Miami Dolphins' Olivier Vernon or Detroit Lions' Darryl Tapp? LSU linebacker Deion Jones has turned some heads this week. He flies. He reminds me a little bit of Telvin Smith from Florida State. Undersized linebacker that runs like a safety. There's a home in the NFL for those kind of guys. Bucky Brooks » South Carolina tight end Jerell Adams is piquing the interest of a lot of teams here this week. The former high school basketball standout is a natural pass catcher with ball skills and post-up ability. Lance Zierlein I was standing next to Baylor's Art Briles talking about some of the draftable Baylor prospects, and he commented a couple of times on how impressed he was by North Carolina State quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The first comment came when he discussed watching tape in preparation for a game against North Carolina where Brissett flashed on tape. The second comment came while watching the goal-line portion of the scrimmage when Brissett threw a rocket on a slant for a touchdown." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000629668/article/senior-bowl-day-3-nfl-media-observations
Brissett is nothing but a potential backup IMO. Both lack of big-game performance and bad decision making.

Some believe he's dropping b/c he chose to show his versatility at OLB during Senior Bowl week. They said he was a tad slower in coverage from that position, so he will then be exposed in the NFL. But IMO he's a true thumper MLB who will also play all 3 downs. There's no way he falls that far.
