I'm trying out Daily fantasy this season. I'm stick w/$1-$2 dollar contests while I acclimate myself to the format. Trying out Yahoo's since they were offering 200% bonuses. I have 4 $1 lineups entered into tournament play. Scoring is .5 PPR. $200 dollars per team. I've got 1 GB packers stack (Rodgers, Lacy, Cobb, Adams), 1 Dolphin stack (Tannehill, Miller, and Landry), and one balanced team. No splashy super stars, just all around solid players at every position. I also have a wildcard team. EDIT: New Wildcard team. QB: Tyrod Taylor ($20) RB: Lamar Miller ($27) RB: Matt Forte ($33) WR: Dez Bryant ($32) WR: AJ Green ($28) WR: John Brown ($17) TE: Martellus Bennet ($20) Flex: Tyler Lockett ($10) Def: Seattle ($13) Strategy: - Tyrod Taylor was cheapest starting QB available at $20 - Lamar Miller and Forte for their rushing ability, but also have some PPR value. - Dez w/great matchup - AJ Green is healthy and has a great match up. - John Brown could very well be T.Y. Hilton 2.0 in Bruce Arians offense w/Carson Palmer. - Seattle/Lockett combo for double points for special team TD's. Might ride this one all season until it hits lol. Hopefully Lockett plays well in the slot. Thinking about switching out Megatron for AJ Green... AJ Green has a juicer matchup.
I was thinking that too. Maybe Matt Forte. The thing I love about Forte, no matter what, he has value in that bears offense. If you're ahead, he can grind. If you're behind, he can catch. There's always possibilities for points with him.
I'm trying out Draftkings for the first time this year. I'm pretty excited to see how it all works and where I place each week. I feel pretty confident in my Fantasy Football knowledge but optimizing the line up under the cap was harder than I expected week 1.
Miller's match-up scares me a little this week so I personally steered clear. I'm starting small, too- 10 bets from a $15 bankroll. I did one upside bet with Tyrod Taylor..... QB- Tyrod RB- Lacy RB- Abdullah [I like him at his price] WR- Julio WR- Dez WR-ODB TE- Eifert K- McMannus [Denver] D- Tenn
WTF, there's one dude on Fan Duel with 200 bets on the 250k Sunday Blitz, 100$ entry. There's another player named zzzImSleeping with 24,000 wins [NFL] since last April...... 82,000 wins total.
The thought of you... sitting in your dusty old recliner at the old folks home... oxygen tank on full output... stomping your cane on the floor for that one last victory needed to reack 82k before the hourglass runs out.
If I don't finish in the green today on Fan Duel with the 7 lineups I have, then these other guys are a bunch of ringers and I've got no business gambling on fantasy football ever again.
All I have to say is that my 3 teams on Draft kings today were an complete embarrassment. Unless Julio puts up about 100 fantasy points tomorrow.
fuggin' Dez. .... and fuggin' ODB, A.J Green, and Calvin Johnson, too. I built my teams around those guys going off and putting me over the top, and then they all sh** the bed when it looked like I was set to cash in heavily on bets.
I'm up $24 dollars at the moment... Nice. Mostly from the $10 entry, 1 million dollar kickoff I decided to enter into, right now, I'm making money in every contest I entered expect 1 (3/4). .That could change tomorrow as I'm sure a lot of people are playing players from the two Monday night games... As am I though. Jordan Matthews is on 2/3 teams. And Vernon Davis is on one. Hopefully, it all works out. Players who were huge for me today: Eifert: The cheapest TE ($13) who had the highest upside and best match up. Glad I went w/him on a couple of teams. Ingram: Decided to flex him on one team. Had an overall good day. Forte: Great day. About to CJ Anderson the league in his contract year. Ivory: Cheap ($17) and had a good matchup. 2 TD's FTW. Hill: Might be my favorite RB this season in terms of production. Players who I hate: Lamar Miller: Or Bill Lazor more accurately. Matthew Stafford. You have a WR nicknamed after a ****ing evil transformer because he's such a monster, being covered by a 5'9" CB and you target him 4 times? **** you, Stafford. Lots of big-time WR were disappointing today. Beckham, Megatron, Dez, all did jack ****. Cobb luckily got a TD or else he would have done jack **** too.
The Top half of my roster really **** the bed. I ran with Tannehill(12.74) thinking he was poised for a huge day.. we all know how that turned out. Forsett(9.6) didn't have a great day, and Davante Adams(9.9) wasn't as productive as I thought he might be. Julio has yet to play, Landry (20.7), Witten (26), Stevie Johnson(20.2), Dolphins DST(15) are really holding me up right now. I'm 13 points behind the money mark but other teams have players tomorrow also so I don't think i'll be able to catch up this week.
Well, I 'm ranked 446th out of 15000 on FanDuel, which translates to $100. but I expect to drop further after the MNF games tonight. lineup: QB Tom Brady RB Eddie Lacy RB Latavius Murray WR Markus Wheaton WR Jarvis Landry WR Davante Adams TE Rob Gronkowski K Dan Carpenter D Miami Dolphins I'm going to start playing more H2H games to win the small bucks each week (easier IMO) which will pay for the bigger contests. currently up 123 to 88 in my H2H contest and he has 1 WR playing and I have DeMarco Murray playing tonight H2H lineup: QB Tyrod Taylor RB Eddie Lacy RB DeMarco Murray WR Dez Bryant WR DeAndre Hopkins WR Davante Adams TE Travis Kelce K Mason Crosby D Miami Dolphins
What dollar amounts are you betting? I'm at 95.8 pts in the Million Dollar Rush /[$5] and 99 points in the 100k Sunday Rush [$2] with Bradford, Julio Jones, and Jordan Matthews still to play. If they have strong games, I could conceivably finish with 160-175 pts.... and possibly reach 150 pts in 2 other leagues. fuuuuuuuuk!!! Philly not challenging the apparent Jordan Matthews TD where it looked like he got the ball inside the pylon just cost me about $300. 6 pts deprived from Matthews and 4 pts from Bradford.
https://dailyfantasynerd.com/optimizer/yahoo/nfl?week=1 These stats are super ****ing interesting/awesome... All the work I put into this week and I had about the same score as this guys optimal lineup. I didn't sign up for a premium account (I might though...), but even if that doesn't interest anyone, his stats are free and are worth checking out. Invaluable in terms of saving time. I did a lot of leg work (and some educated guessing, based on players I like this season) for nothing this week lol. It was ALL right there. The legend/ley is the "?" mark on the right of his stat database. Complete w/projections and a value rating. Going to try his optimal lineup this week (you get one free) when his projections come up Wednesday. My other teams will be my own. Will make sure to put up all my teams this week and show which is which. Has Fanduel, draftkings, and yahoo projections FYI
well, lost my two fantasy leagues I care about with my friends but did pretty well in my four FanDuel and Draft Kings leagues. even won one I thought I had lost FanDuel - weekly: $80 ($25 entry) FanDuel - H2H: $9 ($5 entry) DraftKings - weekly: $22 ($5 entry) DraftKings - MNF lineup: $7 ($3 entry) also won $40 for first place in my office league pickem pool going to roll it all over to next week as well
Ended up taking $23 from my 3 draft kings lineups. And came 101st out of top100 payout for the third lineup lol. Pretty happy for first time.
Week 2. Looking @ yahoo cost values for players, this week looks tougher to predict than week 1. It's early. All is subject to change based on a number of variables. It's only Tuesday... BUT guys I like this week. -QB- 1. Philip Rivers $32): Before his severe rib and back injuries in 2014, Rivers was on pace for 4600 hundred yards, 40 TD's/10 INT, 70% completion through 8 games last year. I've ALWAYS been on the Rivers bandwagon, back when he was a prospect and before he jumped up the boards, I wanted Miami to draft him in 2004 w/our 20th pick. I feel he's very underrated because of "his" W/L record, despite not having much talent on the oline, WR's, RB's, since the mid-2000's. There truly is a Dan Marino comparison to be made for Rivers in terms of what their career trajectory looked like. Both guys had talent on offense entering the league, both had some success (Marino more than Rivers, obviously), and a few years into their careers, their talent deteriorated/left town and their W/L records starting evening out. Agree or disagree w/me on that subject, I like Rivers and for $32 bucks? Yes please. Already has a 400 yard game. Running game can't be relied on, and is weapons are pretty good this year. Best Value + Talent. Even though Cinci's D is decent enough, Rivers will have great fantasy numbers if for no other reason than volume. He will be on at least one of my DFS teams. 2. Drew Brees ($43): Home game vs. Tampa. Tampa made Mariota look like Aaron Rodgers. Played well (355 yards 1TD/1INT) on the road vs. a good Arizona defense. That TD/INT ratio should look more like 3:1 or 4:1. But Mark Ingram got a ton of RZ attempts in NO last year... That could lower this number. 3. Carson Palmer ($34): Looked good. W/o Ellington this week, but the Johnson RB's should be servicable. Bears D really shocked me in week 1 in terms of D play... Legit or not? 4. Sam Bradford ($42): Home v. Dallas. Likes to throw and I don't think Dallas is capable of stopping this offense on the road. 5. Ryan Tannehill ($39): Scared off after week 1? Fair enough, I guess. Strong matchup @ Jax. Tannehill has pretty bad road stats, however... Low floor, high ceiling. 6. Matt Stafford ($37): High potent offense, especially if Ebron is the real deal. Very rarely do TE's have good rookie years. Gronk was the Dan Marino of rookie TE's. 7. Nick Foles ($29): Cheapest legit QB 1. Risky because his weapons are suspect (Tavon, Bailey, Cunningham, Cook) in terms of consistency. Can they keep it up? Vs. Seattle, he played pretty well. Washington isn't Seattle, despite Washington having a good/underrated front 7. I didn't get to see the Viks @ 49ers. Did Minnesota's defense look good or did SF offense/QB look bad? Zimmer is a good defensive coach and they've got young talent, but I'm not sure how to rate Minnesota's defense at this point. Certainly, that will factor in my Stafford opinion.
I just started Fanduel. I turned $2 into $4. I guess that's progress. I've got to put more time into this to get the hang of it.
Getting ready for my week #2: $25 entry in FanDuel. thinking of the following lineup Drew Brees Carlos Hyde DeMarco Murray Donte Moncrief Brandin Cooks Jordan Mathews T Eifert Z Hocker Baltimore defense liking these matches
Love Moncrief this week. Super cheap, great value IMO. TY Hilton had 7 catches, 77 yards, on 14 targets. Moncrief had 6 catches, 46 yards, 1 TD on 11 targets. TY is OUT. Antonio Cromartie is OUT. Moncrief will play in Hilton's spot this week. Andre Johnson will be shadowed by Revis. Moncrief should see 10+ targets this week vs. A weakened Jet's secondary.
i can see Dorsett getting more time, but given Moncrief's targets last week and production, Moncrief has Luck's trust I bet.
I wouldn't disagree with that..... but as far as positions go, it'll probably be Dorsett taking TY Hilton's spot.
I meant spot as on "go to receiver" in the roster w/ Andre getting Revis. Role would of been a better choice of words.
This is my protype roster for this week. Subject to change, but I'm liking... QB: Rivers ($32) @ Cincinnati RB: LeSean McCoy ($28) vs. New England RB: Mark Ingram ($26) vs. Tampa Bay WR: Julio Jones ($37) @ NYG WR: Jordan Matthews ($27) vs. Dallas WR: Donte MonCreif ($13) vs. New York Jets TE: Austin Seferian-Jenkins ($12) @ NO Flex: Darren Sproles ($12) vs. Dallas DEF: Ravens ($12) @ Oak Total: $200 I'm thinking of going w/CJ2K instead of Sproles. $10 and potentially great value. Waiting to hear about any news regarding his role w/Arizona vs. David Johnson. That website I linked earlier suggested my optimized roster should be... QB: Blake Bortles WR: Antonio Brown WR: Demaryius Thomas WR: Dante Moncrief RB: Chris Johnson RB: Matt Forte Flex: Carlos Hyde DEF: Ravens I entered this roster in a $1 50/50. Will make sure to post results. Looks pretty decent. I like Moncrief, Johnson, etc... Problem is, the tournament leagues don't use Thursday night players, eliminating Demaryius Thomas as an option. I would have to buy their content to exclude/filter Thursday night games for another "optimized" roster. I'm not going to do that until I see how decent this service is. If it shows some decent results in the 50/50's that include Thursday night players, I might pick it up in October/November. Optimized rosters for Draft Kings is... QB Drew Brees RB Matt Forte RB Lamar Miller WR Antonio Brown WR Allen Robinson WR Cole Beasley TE Jason Witten FLEX Frank Gore D Baltimore Ravens Optimized Fanduel roster is... QB Ryan Fitzpatrick RB Matt Forte RB Chris Johnson WR Antonio Brown WR Odell Beckham Jr. WR Pierre Garcon TE Jason Witten K Andrew Franks D St. Louis Rams If any of you guys are willing to throw these rosters into a $1 tourney, it would be cool if you posted the results.
I submitted the "Optimized" Draftkings lineup in a $3 entry. I didn't spend too much time on this line up but I think it would be pretty solid. Is Fanduel PPR or standard scoring? Brees Forte Hyde E. Sanders Landry Moncrief Eifert Sproles Phins DST
I use Footballguys*com. pretty good fantasy site, but it costs money. They do their own predictions, but it's interesting that their predictions start with the Vegas lines to predict who the higher scoring teams will be, then they overlay match ups on top of that. They also have a calculator where you can switch players in and out of a lineup - calculated $$ cost divided by projected points to give you value for each player. Here's a sample for week 2: [EDIT] of course the editing of text didn't work after spending 15 minutes making it look nice. struggling to upload a pic. what programs do you guys use to upload pics? I can't seem to do it from photo bucket anymore TEAM OPPONENT ODDS GAME TOTAL TEAM TOTAL PASSING RUNNING TEAM DEFENSE Philadelphia Dallas -6 55.5 30.75 +++ +++ New Orleans Tampa Bay -11 47 29 ++ +++ +++ Indianapolis NY Jets -6.5 47 26.75 ++ ++ NY Giants Atlanta -2 51 26.5 ++ ++ Green Bay Seattle -4 48.5 26.25 ++ ++ Dallas Philadelphia 6 55.5 24.75 ++ + Pittsburgh San Francisco -5.5 44 24.75 + ++ + Atlanta NY Giants 2 51 24.5 + + Cincinnati San Diego -3.5 45.5 24.5 + + Miami Jacksonville -6 41.5 23.75 + ++ Arizona Chicago -2 45 23.5 Minnesota Detroit -3 44 23.5 Kansas City Denver -3.5 42 22.75 + New England Buffalo 0 45 22.5 Buffalo New England 0 45 22.5 St. Louis Washington -3.5 41 22.25 + Seattle Green Bay 4 48.5 22.25 Carolina Houston -3.5 40.5 22 ++ Chicago Arizona 2 45 21.5 Tennessee Cleveland -1 41.5 21.25 San Diego Cincinnati 3.5 45.5 21 Detroit Minnesota 3 44 20.5 NY Jets Indianapolis 6.5 47 20.25 Cleveland Tennessee 1 41.5 20.25 Denver Kansas City 3.5 42 19.25 San Francisco Pittsburgh 5.5 44 19.25 Washington St. Louis 3.5 41 18.75 Houston Carolina 3.5 40.5 18.5 Tampa Bay New Orleans 11 47 18 Jacksonville Miami 6 41.5 17.75 Baltimore Oakland Oakland Baltimore
Based on their calculator where you can switch players in and out of a lineup - calculated $$ cost divided by projected points to give you value for each player. I changed my lineup to the following: C Palmer M Forte B Sankey J Jones J Mathews D Moncrief H Miller J Brown Saints basically, by going with the high value players like Palmer, Sankey, Miller and Moncrief, it allows me to put Julio Jones back into my lineup. We'll see how it goes.
