I just now competed the first Dragon Age:Origins and Awakening. I bought both years ago and just never played that far into them. I was an Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage/Battlemage, and damn near unstoppable. I really liked that game a lot and want to play some more. My question is, should I buy Dragon Age II and go through that one before I buy Inquisition? I'd prefer to go straight to DAI but do I need that story from DAO 2? Also, should I buy it for the PC or Xbox 360?
There is a lot of story and character delopment in 2 that you would miss if you don't play it. The game is also a bridge in style from Origins to Inquisition, in terms of gameplay, graphics, and presentation. I know that the game gets a lot of grief, but I liked it and played it twice. One of the primary characters in 2 is also a companion in 3, and you wouldn't really appreciate him if you were to skip the second game. Your character in Origins does not appear in 2 or 3, though your character in 2 makes an appearance in 3. Before you play Inquisition, you can go to what's called the Dragon Age Keep online, which allows you to say all of the choices that you made in the first two games, and have the game (Inquiaition) world be as close to you're playthroughs as possible. I highly recommend it.
