http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2015/08/23/dolphins-release-wr-michael-preston/ Surprised by this move. Maybe it is to give him time to find and make an impact on another team.
As has happened many times before the training camp wonder is not always able to show up in games which count. He did well without pads .With pads there are other like Hazel who did better. The early release gives him a chance to catch on with another team short of WRs.
I am surprised it was before the 4th preseason game. I thought it was going to come down to him and Hazel for the maybe 6th spot.
Not surprised , he was maybe the seventh WR and did not bring significant special teams skills to the decision . This allows him to get in with another team that may need a depth WR , and the depth wideouts we have to get more reps and maybe show who should be on the PS , like Jones who has return skills and may be a good player to bank in case we need a return guy later in the year . Preston isn't eligible I don't think .
I think its like what crunch said, the early release is because they know none of the others have a chance to make the team, and yet they still need bodies to finish camp, and they wanted him to be able to catch on to another team.
Hopefully he catches on for another team. If not next time i'm in Miami i'll go buy some Nikes from him
maybe parker is gonna be practicing soon
Yeah, really LIKED the guy's attitude, but it's a numbers game here. They likely did release him early to allow him a better chance to catch on somewhere - best of luck to him.
It's the deepest spot on the roster. I honestly don't believe he had a shot at making the Dolphins. We already have Matthews fighting for playing time and Hazels been playing well. I am sure he will get a shot somewhere and I am glad they gave him the opportunity to catch on somewhere with a couple weeks left in camp. Carolina is definitely needing receivers and it is probably a great place for him to land. Really though, he has kind of disappeared in the two preseason games.
Well, so far he just has been showing some of the talent that he posses, Dupe......I like his height, speed, and he has pretty good hands. He has the speed to get deep and wow, does he lay out and dive for the ball when he needs too. I also liked the big trips down near the goal line. Don' t get me wrong, as I like Hazel too but I want as much heights in WR's as Possible.
