http://www.espnfc.us/major-league-s...ams-mls-ownership-group-deal-to-build-stadium Another venue better than Sun life is coming soon.. Marlins Park, American Airlines Arena and Beckham got Sun Life beat.
sounds good. These american football stadiums are too large for an MLS team anyway. 25k seating as proposed sounds about right.
I disagree. Average attendance for Orlando City and Seattle are both well over 25k. I think that a franchise in Miami would benefit from a larger stadium, as there are plenty of Latinos in the area who would presumably have interest. Soccer is increasingly popular in the United States among non Latinos as well. Average attendance in MLS is increasing, and it will likely continue to do so. In an area like Miami, where presumably soccer will be more popular than it is nationally, it would make sense to have one of the largest venues. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Major_League_Soccer_season
Better than Sun Life? Ross is currently spending hundreds of millions of dollars to renovate that stadium. What more do you want, lol?
The thing is, Latinos aren't really the ones who support the MLS. The best MLS supporters are places like Seattle and Portland. Miami had an MLS franchise and they didn't draw regardless of how many Latinos live there. Hopefully that changes because it would be nice to see the MLS thrive in Miami, and for that matter nationally. But most of the latinos that like soccer that I know, pay no attention to the MLS and care more about European soccer, or even the Mexican league.
