Boom! New league year just started. Out the gates, Anthony Davis resigns for a 5 year max. What? So much money left on the table after next year....
Portland just gave Al-Farouq Aminu $30M for 4 years. First team that probably should have gone to bed early tonight.
Ramona Shelbourne reporting that Dragic and Heat are expected to strike a deal shortly and that Dragic is working with the Heat on structure and total numbers to facilitate re-signing Wade. The Heat culture lives on....... Bless you Dragon
And for homework, I'll be expecting a full report on last years 602 page thread. Knicks meeting with Jordan today and LMA tomorrow Knicks had a talk with Corey Brewer last night. So did 2 other teams Knicks met with Monroe and offered a shade under the max. Monroe met with the bucks at 2AM.
Beautiful. Fair deal, and even less than I thought was reasonable. I figured 5 for 95-97 was more than reasonable. Now, let's get wade done.
Well, we still gave him more than he could've gotten on the open market, but I appreciate the man doing this with no drama. He could've gone out and gotten a max offer somewhere else and made us blow it out of the water, but he didn't.
Right here? I don't understand what you are bragging about here? Are you mocking people who think Dragic is good enough to deserve a full max?
Same way the Bucks are close to giving Khris Middleton 5years/70M. At least Milsap is really good. Bulls and Dunleavy close on 3yr/15M Blazers and Lilliard close on 5/120M
Middleton is 24 years old and a 3 and D guy, who might have near all star potential. Give me Middleton over Millsap any day
Middleton averaged 13 and 4 with good efficiency numbers. Milsap averaged 17 and 8 with good efficiency numbers and is a plus defender. I'd take Milsap all day and twice on Sunday. Milsap stats are above average for a PF. Middleton stats are average for a SG or a SF.
Neither is worth that kind of money. Prices are so inflated right now this early in FA. Look at the Aminu deal ffs.
Paul Millsap is also 30, who was playing in a Spurs like system. Khris Middleton is 23, playing in a far less creative/free flowing system. Not saying Millsap isn't good. He is. But $70 million for a 23 year old ascending player is far better than $80 million for a 30 year old maxed out player who will start to decline Especially for the Magic. Why do they want him? to be the 8th seed?
Here's another way to look at that Millsap offer. The Magic are essentially willing to pay him like he's Chris Bosh. That is madness.
Can't look at it like hes chris bosh because the cap numbers are insane right now where as last year not so much. I wouldn't want either for that price tag but if I had to choose I'd take a known quantity who while he may be 30, didn't really start to get heavy minutes til 3-4 years ago.
Im absolutely shocked the Nets re-signed Lopez. I didnt think they were taking in contracts since the team was supposedly up for sale.
gonna be close...... Melo: $135,865,275 Wade: $121,321,666 Here is the rub. Wade has made and will make another $210 Million with Jordan Brand and LiNing
Nope. Melo's made roughly $20M more in his career than Wade. Wade: http://www.spotrac.com/nba/miami-heat/dwyane-wade/cash-earnings/ Melo: http://www.spotrac.com/nba/new-york-knicks/carmelo-anthony/cash-earnings/
remember that Melo still has about $90 mil left on his current deal and Wade is gonna get like $45 or so.
Yes but Melo also is 2 years younger than Wade, was a higher pick so made more on his rookie contract, and opted for a bigger contract instead of joining a competitor. It's not crazy that he has made and will make more money, if only due to him being younger when he joined the NBA.
