The following was a tweet: Chambers tells us Landry is working w/ him @ChamberFitness "He's really into (f'ball)..he's already training & getting ready for the season" Jarvis Landry is doing whatever it takes to get better. He is definitely working his butt off.
Little chip maybe because his bud took all of the headlines last year? Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. I think he will be a very nice player.
Dude is working out at a high end performance center while everyone else is on vacation..lol.. Vacation from what, a few Ota practices and workouts...its your freakin craft, take your week off and get your asses back to your craft, that's what you get paid to do, take your vacations when your career is over, which is in about on average 4 to 5 years..maybe if you worked like this dude, that average would go up, and you would have more money in the bank...see how that works. Just throwin it out there.
Thanks for the thread again,lol..you are on a roll and you have created some action on here again during this slow time...Thank you....and with Landry, we knew that he would be training hard.
No problem. I know people will like some of these. If I like something I read or watch, I want to share it with all y'all here.
Well let's hope that most of them do after a week or two vacation..I wish Wake was not going to foreign soil. But we know that Wake,OV,Suh,Landry and Tannehill, will work their asses off..but the way that the whole team is talking,I think they might all be serious about this year..I sure hope so..We have a real chance at starting at 6-0 this year, so it is important for the training by all so that we can jump out to a fast start. Also, Landry did the same thing last year, I remember reading an article about it...gosh..6-0, imagine that...then it is not crazy to think that we can go into New England and Buffalo and bring home the victories...then we are at 8-0....darn...that would be sweet.
their season ended in early January..ota's took all of 10 to 12 days..do the math..I just don't have a lot of respect for players who look at camp like their time to get in shape.
Yeah it's true. I want teammates who will workout day in and day out. Players who take their jobs seriously.
Yeah I'm just talking in general terms..but at this time all I hear from players around the league is about how their so tired of ota's and want to go on vacation...whatever.
I totally agree Deej...I don't know why more guys aren't like JJ Watt with that kind of dedication and fire for the game. He and Cam Wake are the example of what a football player should be, IMHO.
Exactly. You'd think you would want to work hard even when no one is watching. People is trying to take your job. You should fight for what you got. It's not promised to you. You get out what you put in.
Somewhere along the line a lot of players forget that it's a full time job, they also forget that the body is the tool that everything depends on, financial security..shoot half the league prolly doesn't even eat right..
The sad realities that familiarity breeds complacency and the nature of the average is to settle. It will always be the few who extert the energy to rise to the top and then maintain it to stay there. You're either going forward or falling back, there is no status quo.
Tired???? LOL....I wish I could make what some of them make for the 2 week period during ota's.....just brutal...bring back the two a day's...let's get some great work in...(I wish..twice daily). They could go once in bubble, once on the field..it is really weird that the more these guys make, the less they have to practice?
If I were these guys, I'd be busting my butt in the weight room and working on mastering my craft. I have like 5 weeks or so right? So I'd take a week or two off, then I'd be working hard everyday the final few weeks. I have to be ready for the season.
Now the world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you, might not be right for some...
i can understand that in certain parts of life, but were talking a pro athlete here, and if this was to ring true, you'd have to prove to me that someone who works hard on their craft and body during their offseason has no advantage over someone who doesn't.
I mean it's equally if not more important to stimulate and strengthen the mind as well as the body. Sometimes bears just need to hibernate...I'm just trying to filter that nervous fear that is all too common for professionals. It's why you'll see one on the beach with a laptop doing work on his vacation. Full of fear that someone will take his job when he's away.
valid point, but the original point was these dudes have been off since early Janurary..they had 12 days of real practices in shirts and shorts with no contact in that time..all of them could of taken multiple vacations during that timespan..Now I can understand the ones that play in places where their families don't live and they go back to spend that time with them before they go on tour for the next 5-6 months, but other than that, there should be dozens of dolphins at strength performing centers right now.
Dude, of course you're right. You totally need to be at one of those performance centers yelling at someone right now...
