Found this article interesting: http://www.atlredline.com/goldman-sachs-rakes-in-millions-from-lucas-oil-stadium-1705385983 I just don't understand how the public still gets duped into this stuff based on the false premise of increased revenue. All the revenue goes to the wealthy, all the expense to the taxpayers. If Ross has done anything worthy in his tenure, it is his footing of the stadium renovations. Hopefully we see more investment coming from the billionaires and corporations and less from the regular folk.
The day that scumbag sells the team I'll be happy.. lol And isn't San Diego/Oakland going to be public funded too in Carson City? Whilst they're going through a drought.
Ross fronted the money for the renovations. He's going to get it back, from the taxpayers. The city screwed the taxpayers, really. Instead of giving Ross money from a 1 cent increase in hotel taxes, they're going to doll out millions for "events" held at JRS or whatever the hell they're calling it these days.
http://deadspin.com/john-oliver-explains-the-biggest-scam-in-sports-1717440394 Great bit from John Oliver expanding on why public financing is insane. It continues to be a massive ripoff for everyone but billionaires. Just say NO anytime a billionaire asks for a handout.
