After the Rams drafted Todd Gurley the 5'9 224 pound RB Zak Stacy has now demanded for a trade. Even without Gurley on the team last year Stacy saw limited carries. The year before he had some flashes of being a solid RB with a bad Rams OL. I think it would be great having him as that big complimentary RB to Lamar Miller. He is just peanuts to the Rams now they got no leverage in trades. If the Dolphins only got a 5th for Wallace then a 6th or 7th should be enough for Stacy. Stacy will bring more to the team then a 6th or 7th round pick. Well hopefully the Dolphins will look into this. Would you trade a 6th or 7th for Stacy? I think being that complimentary big RB would be a perfect role for him.
As with any trade, it's all about price. All I have to go on are highlights, but he seems like he'd be a great guy to have in the rotation. He's not a bruiser but he's a tough little meatball of a RB almost like Ray Rice. At this point I think it's highly likely that Miami is looking for a RB in the late rounds or as an UDFA (as with Hickey's usually MO). If you're going to get one going that route anyway, why not make a trade for Stacy? It does make sense. Lamar Miller, Damien Williams and Zak Stacy would be a nice combo. Whether you like Stacy or not Miami definitely needs to add depth and size to the rotation of RBs they current have. Stacy isn't big but he's very good depth.
I would do a straight trade for Stacy with Rishard Mathews. Neither one will fetch a draft pick and both are stuck on the bench. Maybe a change of scenery could be good for both.
I don't want anyone on the team that asks for a trade because their team drafted same position....no thanks...
He is ranked as the 4th string RB on the Rams right now. So there is no need to trade anything for him. It is very likely he will be availiable on the free agent market in the near future after the Rams cut him.
