http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...aft-positions-teams-favoravoid-in-first-round Three OL in the past seven years have been taken in round one. Interesting that the last first round linebacker was in 1984 Jackie Shipp. Is there a stat showing what position overall is the safest first round pick and the worst position to take in a first round?
Makes it easier. Dennis Hickey was with the Bucs and the Bucs have used five of their past eight first-round picks on defensive players with no Tom Brady. Just Something to ponder.
OT,QBs,CBs ,DLs WRs always seem to be the favorite picks at the top of most teams draft . LBs,Ss,Gs,TEs and lately RBs seem to lag behind.
Seahawks hit on so many late round picks (esp. on defense) as well as on mid-round picks (e.g Wilson) in the past 5 years that they could afford to go without a 1st, or if they have one pick OL with it.
