Reaching for a player that has no business going that high. I would say an offensive lineman, but they could do worse by taking a guy with little upside just to fill a need.

    It's 1995.

Five guys in college get a sports bar to show the draft on sattelite in London, Ontario Canada... back when it wasn't cool to watch the draft yet.

We had bound, spiral ring copies of Mel Kiper Jr's draft report and enough chicken wings to cause a massive coronary for all of us.

    The second round comes.

My buddy, Dan.. his beloved Bears are on the clock to pick.

"The pick is in. With the 56th pick in the 1995 NFL Draft the Chicago bear select, Todd Sauerbrun. Punter. West Virginia."

Lord, we laughed til the heavens heard us that day while Dan cried in his beer.

Too bad we didn't have cell phone cameras back then. If you could have gotten a video of his expression of that draft pick it would have been priceless!

Losing picks to trade up and then trading mid-round picks to gain picks back that are too low - 6th and 7th.

I don't mind losing a possible elite talent in the first round in order to gain solid talent in the second or possibly third rounds. I don't want the Phins to trade up if it means walking away with something like only three picks this year. Neither do I want to see the Phins mortgage their future by trading away high picks next year.

They get a player who we find out after drafting them is not good?

I don't think there are many people who should have that strong an opinion on a specific prospect.

Trading up and giving away much needed picks for it. Tannebaum ruined the jest by doing exactly that.

Moving up in the first round and then drafting a player that we could have Picked at 14 if we would have been patient.

I think Eric Kendricks is a reach at 14 and if we do draft him it's because of a need. So I'll go with Kendricks if we stay put at 14 and draft him.

I'm surprised at Arik Armstead. And even more so at Eric Kendricks.

Personally I'd be disappointed with Ronald Darby or P.J. Williams. Unlike some, I actually kind of like Jalen Collins, but I'm not sure he's good value up there. I'd be pretty unhappy with Darby or Williams, and pretty uneasy over Marcus Peters or Jalen Collins.

But a pick that recently got tossed up there in a national mock draft that would REALLY get to me is D.J. Humphries. I am not necessarily in favor of an OL that high but there are a fair number of OLs I would rather have, including guys generally thought of as a tackles only.

Not really digging the DTs Malcom Brown or Jordan Phillips either.

As long as whoever they draft in the first round can come in and be a solid starter from day one, I will be satisfied. What I don't want is another Jordan, who after two years in the league still isn't projected to be a starter entering his third year with the team.

I would be disappointed if we reached by a round or two for someone like DJ Humphries to simply fill a hole.

I would also be pretty disappointed if we traded up for Devante Parker. I won't be thrilled if he we took him at #14 but I wouldn't be upset... but if we trade up for him? **** that.

This. Not really feeling a CB in RD 1 other then Trae Waynes unless we trade down well in to the 20's. Late 20's I may consider Kevin Johnson. Peters is a red flag for me...normally I dont mind taking a chance on a player with ability but questionable character but I dont think Philbin is a strong enough leader to maximize that.

Guys like Humpheries and Collins are mid 2's to me. Malcolm Brown at 14 is just a wasted pick. You could trade down well in to the late 1st/early 2nd and get a player as good or better. Not really seeing what the fuss is about there and why people even have him as a 1st round grade.

And this. Im not a big Parker fan at all. Theres about half a dozen receivers Id rather have there.

Trading up for anyone other then Cooper would grind my gears quite a bit. I just think Cooper will be an absolute animal in the pro's.

I'd be a little wary of DeVante Parker even at 14 let alone in a trade up.

I'd be concerned about a Shaq Thompson pick because I do not trust this coaching staff with him. I think they could screw him up.

I agree that Ereck Flowers would be a questionable fit. Denzel Perryman or Phillip Dorsett would drive me nuts at pick 14.

Nah. The stench of Jeff Ireland still haunts this franchise. As such, he deserves to be mentioned in a derogatory fashion. That's my duty as a fan. To poke fun at Jeff Ireland for the rest of my days.

I had a dream last night Dolphins somehow traded Jarvis Landry for a 3rd and selected Phillip Dorsett with the 14 pick. Woke up confused and it took me a second to realize it was just a dream and not a recollection.

That's quite literally my 1st round nightmare.

Giving up draft picks to move up again. It rarely works and we have too many holes to be thinking we're one player away.

I would pretty much consider it a fail if we picked at all in the 14 spot. IMO, the Dolphins desperately need another pick or two in the first three rounds to solidify the secondary and fill the hole at LG; and ya, a high character, intelligent, long, athletic WR with huge upside would be nice.

Trading down is a must, even if it isn't that great of compensation. A lot of the guys projected to go late in the first or early in the second are preferable to me anyway.

For example: I would much rather have Byron Jones and Alex Carter after trading down than just Trae Waynes.

I would much rather have Jake Fisher,Alex Carter and Chris Conley than just La'el Collins.
