And why would free agents NOT want to come to Miami right?
The pilot of this show was really good. The Rock is basically play Jason Taylor right? Any Dolphins fan would have had to have a little SQUEE in them seeing Don Shula and Larry Czonka in that boat. The Phins coach in the show is much cooler than Philbin. They showed Sunlife Stadium mid renovation. I wonder if this show will actually have any real game footage. That'll probably be too expensive. The Rock's scene's are all done as flashbacks.
I don't get the comparison to JT. Rock's character seems ill equipped for life after football, so he is hustling to make ends meet and secure a future. JT, I think, is pretty much the opposite of that. And it is stunning that the show didn't ask any permission or address any potential red tape with the NFL or Miami Dolphins. They refer to them, use their logos, they are an integral part of the show. You can just do that? I don't think this has any chance in hell of coming close to Entourage, but I will give it a full season.
Ah yes, the flashbacks from when they didn't have the upper deck corners and before they pushed the seats away from the sidelines
this most recent episode was just awful. the only reason I'm watching is because it seems to center around the Dolphins and there were a couple of former Dolphins actually in this episode (Odrick and Ellerbe)
well I was ashamed that I recognized him. the one on the right was really the lone highlight... hotness...
Found it interesting, although not really relevant... Ross comments regarding the HBO show Ballers http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...ballers-ross-doesn-t-care-20150731-story.html
Ballers got renewed for 2nd season, so ratings must be good. Its getting better for me. They are def. leaning towards The Rock having some serious issues with the concussions and things.
Ballers ratings are markedly better than the Brink which is on right after (or is it before) the same night on HBO. BTW, IMO the Brink is 100 times better. Surprised the ratings are as poor as they are... latest ep was .97 compared to 1.81 for Ballers. Actually the ratings for Ballers are similar to Homeland, which I find rather shocking.
Pouncey said its quite accurate portrayal of things. Its NFL related during the off season, The Rock is the most popular movie star at the moment, NFL player cameos, boobs, drugs, cussing, "hip" soundtrack I can def see why the ratings are there.
The Rock is the most popular movie star at the moment Sick? You don't really believe that. you're just pumping him like steroids.
top 30 what? he is an A list celebrity. the guys movies make money. i seriously doubt this one goes less than 5 seasons Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
In terms of box office, Dwayne Johnson is the Hollywood "it" man, at the moment. He resurrected the fast and furious franchise, G.I. Joe franchise, and that steaming pile of **** San Andreas made half a billion dollars world wide in box office, and will likely make a ton of money on DVD/Blu Ray. Dwayne Johnson is a movie star in every way. Being a "good" actor doesn't mean chit in regards to popularity. p.s. The Rock was very good in Snitch, acting wise. And I loved "Pain and Gain." He was good in that too.
I could name 30 actors they could have put at the head liner of San Andreas and that movie would still have made as much money as it did.
if he had paul wouldnt be so down on him the guy poops gold nuggets [emoji14] Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
i would just like to point out neither is tom deuce bag cruise but he is money Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Tom Cruise is a legend... one of the greatest actors of all time... you really think he's a Scientology follower?
The Rock has 50 million Facebook followers and another 9 million twitter followers. Regardless of an opinion on his acting ability.....he's as close as you get to star actor right now popularity wise. Unfortunately, the show is mediocre. They could have done a lot better.
I've only seen the pilot episode, but I thought it was cool. I could relate to some of the story lines from past (and present, see the 49'ers) about players getting released because of off-the-field problems. Plus I like that they're using a real team's name and logo, and it happens to be ours. I love the movie, "Any Given Sunday," but I didn't like the fact that they had to use made up team names, logos, and team colors. Some of them looked ridiculous. I've got no problem with the Rock. Probably because he played for the Hurricanes, and he has also donated more $ to The athletic program than any other former athlete.
