The DraftTek simulator's latest draft has the Dolphins picking as follows: UPDATED! Original post is lower down, here is Drafttek's latest offering for the Dolphins: Round 1 - 14 - ILB - Eric Kendricks - When the Dolphins take the field for their first game this September, what position will Misi be occupying? That question has been answered... sort of, HC Philbin and DC Coyle want him to be the leader of the D; man the middle and make the play calls. After all, that's where he was in 2014 and played quite well. PFF.com ranked him as the 12th-best ILB all of last season. That's better than both Brandon Spikes (13th) and David Harris (29th), players Miami fans wanted to see added to the Dolphins' roster during Free Agency. Well, that didn't happen, so are we set for Season Two of "Misi in the Middle"? Perhaps. Of course, if Hickey and Tannenbaum get their way, Misi will move to the Sam position (Jenkins remains at Will) leaving a void at Mike. And there isn't a better middle linebacker in this class than Kendricks (our top-ranked ILB). Alternates - Trae Waynes (CB), Melvin Gordon (RB) Round 2 - 47 - OG - Ali Marpet -

The Dolphins entered 2014 with a completely new look along the o-line. LT Albert, OG Smith, OC Satele, and RT James were all newcomers with the lone holdover - Pouncey - playing RG instead of Center. He will be moving back to OC in 2015, which is for the best. Pouncey was dreadful at OG this past season, according to Pro Football Focus metrics. In fact, all four Miami OGs that played a substantial amount of snaps were, well, terrible. Pouncey, Smith, Thomas, and Colledge were ranked 54th or lower by PFF. Thomas and 2014 rookie Turner have the inside track on the two OG spots by default, unless Brenner, Fox, or Asper excel in camp.Marpet continues to rise up draft boards and make strides among scouts. Miami's brass likesmall-school players and Team Captains. Marpet is both.

- Alternates - Dorial Green-Beckham (WR), Nelson Agholor (WRF) Round 4 - 114 - FS - Gerod Holliman - Alternates - Tre' McBride (WRF), Kenny Bell (WRF) Round 5 - 149 - WRF - Josh Harper - Alternates - Dezmen Lewis (WRF), Stefon Diggs (WRF) - 150 - DE - Lynden Trail - Alternates - Shane Carden (QB), Jeff Luc (ILB) Round 6 - 191 - ILB - Zach Vigil - Alternates - Cameron Artis-Payne (RB), Derrick Malone (LB) ORIGINAL BELOW Round 1 - 14 - WR - Devante Parker - This marks the 3rd straight DRAFTSIM model where Parker is the pick at 14. Consensus forming? Despite adding promising youngster Stills (trade with Saints) to the equally-talented Landry, Miami still needs more. And by more I mean a real #1. Stills replaces Wallace's speed. Landry excelled as a rookie, producing primarily in the slot, but who is the do-it-all, outside threat? Parker (6-2, 209) is a ball vac, catching everything thrown his way (156 catches for 2,775 yards and 33 TDs in 43 games). He's continually mentioned as the premier West Coast-style receiver in the draft, just what the Dolphins want. Oh, and nearly 18 yards/catch in his collegiate career? Not too shabby. If they crave more size, since no projected starter's above 6-0, then Jaelen Strong may make more sense here. Alternates - Melvin Gordon (RB), Jaelen Strong (WR) Round 2 - 47 - DT - Xavier Cooper - Miami eased the need at DT in March by snagging arguably the best Free Agent available, Ndamukong Suh. However, they were unable to re-sign Odrick and released Starks, which basically negates the Suh signings in terms of depth. The team can roll with a starting duo of Suh/Mitchell but behind them are Coleman, Francis, Johnson, and Johnson --all undrafted players. Cooper conducted a private workout with Miami following the Cougars' Pro Day on March 12th. The Dolphins selected three players in 2014 that they examined more diligently(OT James, OG Turner, DE Fede). Is Cooper next? The knock on him is a lack of strength for his size. However, his maturation in college leads scouts to believe he can rectify that deficiency while maintaining his superb quickness. - Alternates - Laken Tomlinson (OG), Jay Ajayi (RB) Round 4 - 114 - ILB - Ramik Wilson - Alternates - Javorious Allen (RB), Za'Darius Smith (DE) Round 5 - 149 - QB - Garret Grayson - Alternates - Robert Myers (OG), John Miller (OG) - 150 - OG - Robert Myers - Alternates - John Miller (OG), Lynden Trail (DE) Round 6 - 191 - ILB - Zach Vigil - Alternates - Cameron Artis-Payne (RB), Derrick Malone (LB)
No need for a QB anywhere in the draft. Team has 3 and once the season starts I don't see the team needing anyone besides Tannehill and Moore. Don't need 3 or 4 QBs on the roster. Best case scenario trade back.
Yeah, not sure what the QB selection was doing in there. Would be interested to see the way the software is processing data.
i don't see the comparison that some of made, he's kind of a unique receiver, he's more of a matchup winner, and one on battler, a jump ball getter, he likes sideline and fade routes
The fades really jumped out at me, his ball skills might be the best in this class. If he can pair that with stops, slants, screens, an occasional dig or postl he'll be fine in year one even if he's not up to speed w the nuances of the offense.
That would be acceptable if we took the alternates in the 4th and 5th, Buck Allen, John Miller, and Lynden Trail.
