About a month ago, the 6-foot senior was invited to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, one of 34 linebackers trying to prove they were athletic enough to play in the NFL. Then a funny thing happened: Heeney was the top performer in three of the seven drills at his position while also setting a new linebacker record in the 60-yard shuttle. Heeney’s 60-yard shuttle time was most impressive. His mark of 11.06 seconds ranked first in the last decade among linebackers, directly ahead of Von Miller — a Texas A&M product who later went No. 2 in the 2011 draft. http://cjonline.com/sports/hawkzone/2015-03-25/ben-heeney-out-prove-stereotypes-incorrect
I love this player. Have for quite a while. I think he's a future Zach Thomas type. I recognize that Eric Kendricks is rated higher and will go higher and is the better prospect, but if Heeney were there in round 4 I'd take him no matter what. And, I'd go home and be happy.
Heeney is exactly who I want Miami to draft for MLB position. I believe he is special and he reminds me of a young Zach in several ways. Thank You Mr.Clean for first sending me links to watch him and thanks to Jim1 as well. I think a playmaker is needed in rounds 1&2 and Heeney in Fourth will be a steal imho.
