Do you think he would be a nice add to the secondary?

he might be the best CB left on the market, i would rather sign a guy like patrick robinson and let coyle do his magic with secondary players, williams also is 32 years old

My only problem with Patrick Robinson is his famously burnt toast reputation. I can see how his age is an intruiging factor.

robinson was solid the last 5 games for the saints last year though and coyle seems to get the best out of secondary players

I meant more as a stop-gap, one or two year option. I wouldn't expect him to be at the top of his game for the next 4 or 5.

I hope you know P. Robinson is also virtually a pure nickelback. And we just signed one in McCain.

I still have nightmares about his blown coverage against the Broncos. I think he's more of a Nickel corner.

I agree, I was just wondering if you knew P-Rob was a nickelback, it would be a waste to sign another one when we just got McCain.

All players make mistakes, especially when they are young. If you look at Kam Chancellors first two years in the NFL, you would have a lot of nightmares of him blowing coverages.

McCain is cheap and we need more depth to avoid that disaster of last year, when we were signing corners of the streets, i would expect robinson to sign in the same price range as McCain

I agree, but that mistake was monumental. Completely turned the game around. What was it 3rd & 19 and he bites on a stop & go.

Damn! I had hoped we would pick him up too. Would of been a great stop gap.

    Oh Well.

Taylor has the talent. But he struggles to stay healthy even as a backup so counting on him as a starter is a serious leap of faith.

Browns agreed to terms with CB Tramon Williams, formerly of the Packers, on a three-year, $21 million contract.

That's a ton of coin for a 32-year-old cornerback, especially since the Browns already have one of the league's highest-paid corners in Joe Haden, and used a 2014 top-ten pick on Justin Gilbert. It signals a lack of faith in Gilbert following his disastrous rookie year. Of course, Williams was still a solid cover man last season, intercepting three passes across 1,032 snaps. Williams should open the year as a starter, but has experience in the slot. He could kick inside in nickel situations if Gilbert emerges on the perimeter.
