A source tells Yahoo the 49ers are expecting ILB Patrick Willis to retire. Earlier Monday morning, PFT's Mike Florio teased a bomb coming out of San Francisco. We now know what it is. Willis is only 30 years old. A report from Bay Area Sports Guy says Willis is hanging up his cleats after recently experiencing a "religious awakening." Willis also has had chronic toe issues in recent years. Maybe he just wants to go out on his own terms. It would be a sad end to a dominant career that saw Willis get named a first-team All-Pro five times in eight seasons -- he was the game's best middle linebacker both in coverage and against the run. His retirement would net the 49ers $7.4M in cap space.
OH that is just another wild rumor he still has some god years left. you what we really need is a big time tight end to compliment Clay . if Wallace stays I still hope Miami drafts a good wr in this nextdraft.
