Gunna miss JO a ton, good dude. But, there is zero reason to not see why they let him go with a guy like Suh coming to town. Worst thing is they could have probably cut Starks and Mitchell and been able to swing JO back in town. Either way I like our addition and good for the Jags. Think Bradley will make him into a Pro Bowl type player there which he deserves to be.
Would rather have kept Odrick and Cut Starks at this point. Randy was really showing his age in the second half of the season last year.
Given Starks salary at over 6 million against the cap that he would have been allowed to go. Mind you Odrick had issues with the staff so he may not have been wanted back.
If you're comparing odrick to suh. You're right. If you're comparing Starks to Odrick....you're wrong.
Odrick was cool. Liked him and v respected him. But part of us getting ran over near the end of the season was our lack of stout defensive tackle play. odricks not really a run stuffer.
Starks fell off last year, and will be another year older and cost a ton of money in 2015. If we're keeping Starks over Odrick, thats a bad move imo.
I'll miss you, JO. Solid player and I loved listening to his interviews. May the Pee Wee dance be in abundance in Jacksonville.
How about the current D vs the one from the start of last year, or 2010-13? Seems like robbing Peter to pay Paul, no?
He was a plus player, sorry to see him go. Not sure he was worth 7m a year, but most are overpaid in free agency. Good for him.
What's unfortunate is that this should've been the 1st-round pick that was Earl Thomas, and now, only four years later, it's no one.
I remember that draft like so many others we blew. I remember many clamoring for us to take one of those two guys and when we grabbed Odrick tgere was a collective wtf moment. Odrick was an ok player, but one we definitely reached for, especially given who was available. He didn't do anything his first two years and fell behind. IMO that stunted his development where he was just average. Versatile, yes, but very average. He is/was nothing special. Which is to say about a lot of Ireland picks.
Was it? Hartline? Matthews? Gibson?......not seeing where the desperation was unless you were looking at the WR roster when Wallace was signed. When was the last time the WR unit was loaded with playmakers? or genuine quality players that make plays...red zone?
Wallace is a playmaker. You don't score as many touchdowns in your career as he has and not be a playmaker. Overpaid, sure.
I do not think they will keep Starks either Sick, I think they may go with the younger ones on the Roster..what do you think?
