Im not opposed, AP is a freak of nature, can beat you in many ways and I still think he has A LOT left in the tank. Miami would be smart to try and grab him.
No ... just ... no. Aside from the obvious media circus (which we don't need), Peterson comes with a ridiculously expensive cap number. We'd be better off investing that money elsewhere - into the offensive line and defense - as opposed to paying that kind of of money for a RB. We'd be better off drafting a RB in the mid rounds to complement Miller, as opposed to overpaying for a controversial RB who is going to be 30 by the time the season rolls around.
As much as the whole thing sounds like a great idea from a fantasy football perspective, NFL teams that invest that kind of cap money into the RB position are doomed to fail in today's NFL.
If he was cut and the price was right I guess I'm not totally opposed to it but he will more than likely have to be traded for and I'm not giving anything up or tying up a lot of cap space for him.
I would absolutely LOVE him but....he will cost us a pretty good draft pick and he is due 15.1 million for 2015. How could that help us ? It can't. Great to think about it though.....
We would crush people w/ Peterson and Miller, easily over 150 yards rushing per game. The play action would be sick, Wallace would have a chance to do what he does best, the D would be on the field less and have more points to work with. I'm not bothered by the off the field stuff, that guy would make us a contender overnight.
Good point. He'd probably have to restructure but I don't think he'd cost a high pick, 3rd or 4th rounder maybe.
I heard today that if he chooses to stay in Minn. they WILL pay him the 15.1 mill. That will be almost impossible to do. I think Tannebaum thinks big and he would be big...again...nice to think about it.
One can dream, but I don't see it happening. Peterson is getting older...He's got 2-3 years left at this point.
would be a really good addition, but too expensive . wondering if we should pickup Reggie Bush. should be cheaper. once he's playing on grass again, he might stay healthy and be an upgrade at #2 RB
No way. Have other needs on defense, O-Line, possibly pass game depending what happens with TE & WR in free agency.
If he could carry a team lead by Christian Ponder to the playoffs, imagine what he could do with Tannehill at QB.
Rumor is Adrian wants Cardinals Cowboys or Colts. Three dome teams lol. In the end, I think he stays in Minnesota. Minnesota isn't going to release him if that's what he's hoping, and Minnesota will never get value for him. So AP better get comfortable because I believe they still have another season to play outdoors in Gopher stadium lol
I don't know why Peterson would want to come to Miami, with a head coach/GM that are on a one year deal. You go to a contender, with a stable coach/GM situation. Plus he would be expensive and come with a media circus. Dude is a beast, but we are victims of yet another failed house cleaning by the owner.
Yep, sure, automatic yes. Best RB in a generation. Not going to happen though. AP still has three years worth of tread and, if he goes anywhere, it's to a contender. And likely a certain one in his home state of Texas.
Hmm... and here I thought you wanted to replace Fields.. I thought we were going to have a great debate about replacing our punter. #disappointed
They were chasing him when we landed him. He might be good with Bridgewater. Fresh starts for both. Makes way too much sense to happen but we can imagine.
I think he still has some good years left in him. I just don't see the Dolphins spending the type of cap money on him they would need to pay for his services. They just have far too many needs on the roster to spend the majority of there cap space on him. The only player in the entire free agency class this year who is worth spending a lot of money on is Suh. Unfortunately the chances the Dolphins would be able to sign Suh is about the same as Philbin being named the greatest head coach in NFL history. In other words, it ain't happening.
NO ONE is going to trade for Wallace. He is paid too much money and unless he is willing to restructure his contract, teams will just wait until the Dolphins release him and then try to sign him without giving up anything in a trade. I am sure Wallace and his agent are already telling the Dolphins they will not restructure the contract. Because why should Wallace want to accept a trade to benefit the Dolphins? When all he has to do is wait a few months and he can pick where he wants to play next year, without the Dolphins dictating the team he must play for if they trade him.
