Top OT tears ACL … Texas A&M OT Cedric Ogbuehi, a first round prospect for the 2015 draft, will reportedly undergo surgery in the next while after he tore an ACL in the Aggies’ liberty Bowl win over West Virginia. The injury, which was first reported by Yahoo.com’s Rand Getlin, comes after a senior season in which Ogbuehi struggled making the transition to LT such that he was actually briefly moved back to the right side before returning to the blindside. If healthy, though, the 6-5, 300 pound Ogbuehi, whom the GBN had rated as the 4th best OT for the upcoming draft and the 18th best prospect overall, had prototype NFL LT physical tools including excellent length, long arms and the light feet to outside speed rushers. The injury almost certainly means that Ogbuehi will not be able to participate in any pre-draft testing including next month’s scouting combine in Indianapolis as well as the Aggies’ pro day in March. The best hope for Ogbuehi is that he will be close to 100% by the time training camps open in August; however, its hard to see how this injury can’t significantly hurt his draft status. http://gbnreport.com/
Draftcountdown has him as the #2 prospect in the draft. Should be interesting to see what happens with him.
