    14. MIAMI DOLPHINS

T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh: The Dolphins went offensive tackle in the first round last year and could address the position again next spring, especially with Branden Albert's injury history. Clemmings has the skill-set to line up at tackle or guard and still has a long way to go before hitting his football ceiling.

I see this seniario as a high quality guard that should slide over to tackle when Albert is done/gets injuried. We are all in on Tannehill at this point. I think Atlanta proved this year that a good o-line is more important for a young qb than great skill position players.

It could happen but as Two Tacos suggests it would be a tackle to guard convert who eventually moves to replace Albert.

That's no excuse for Brugler's pick tho because that wasn't his reasoning behind it. His reasoning was poor. The Dolphins put so much guaranteed into Albert's contract that it seems absurd to be giving up on him within a year. They'll be committed to getting him healthy this year and getting a second and third year out of him. Beyond 2016 I would not necessarily forecast him being here. If you look at his contract it seems three years is the target minimum effective length. But they're not gonna draft someone at 14 overall to sit behind Albert for even one year, let alone two years.

I'll be initially bummed out about taking an O-Lineman with our first pick just because of the excitement of the draft, and all the skill position/rush specialists out there, but we need big time help on the O-Line.

Mock drafts this early are pointless though. FA hasn't begun, underclassmen haven't fully declared yet. No combine/workouts, etc etc.

Im all for having a dominant OL but taking one that high to play LG just in case is overkill imo. Ideally Turner, Smith and Thomas will be good enough, if not use later picks on an OG. We need LBs, a FS, WR, RB, a DT if Odrick walks. That should be the focus.

I don't think it's an overkill, we are a rebuilding team, we can't draft luxury pieces because we're not a playoff team, we have many holes and while I would love one of the best receivers at 14, that's going to do nothing for us if the quarterback is on the ground. Brandon Albert has had back issues and now has to recover from his knee injury, there are no guarantees when his return will be - this is a very large man, he puts a ton of weight on that knee.

Cowboys finally got out of round 1 after adding a final piece to that offensive line that is now considered the best offensive line in the NFL.

Maybe we will address it in free agency, if we're able to clear money, but if we can't then OL and LB should be on the top of the list at the draft, I prefer drafting one of them stud linebackers though... I think we've ignored that position far too long and it's time to get a leader for our defense.

That is the kind of thinking Jeff Ireland did when it came to the OL and look where that has left us.

Turner is unproven and we are hoping he comes good.
Smith is JAG who can't really pass block but run blocks well.
Thomas shouldn't be on the roster next year, I'll be surprised if he is even in the league.

We need to get Tannehill protection before he gets broken. If a day 1 OL starter is there at 14, take him.

why is it necessary to always draft a olineman in round 1 we have 6 other rounds to pick players like that. if you draft in round it always be a playmaker such as a DE, linebacker , cb . or te wr , qb or wr but to draft a olinemen in the first round for 5 years out of 7 years isn't getting us anywhere .
