Ok, I've seen a lot of mocks sending him to us, and to be honest never saw him play. After reading this article, I am sold on him. Get him on our defense! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2314910-the-most-valuable-player-in-college-football
Yes this guy is a tremendous football player. I haven't posted much on him recently because I did a lot of my work on him prior to the start of the 2014 season. But he stood out to me immensely. http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...cts-for-2015&p=2381377&viewfull=1#post2381377 Note my comparison to Aaron Donald a year ago. I identified Aaron Donald very early in the process at a time most looked at his size and declared him nigh on undraftable. Even as a rookie, Donald has arguably become a top 3 defensive tackle in the NFL. Shaq Thompson gets my blood going the way Donald did. And I believe that Dennis Hickey would still like to acquire his own version of Lavonte David, so he will be on radar even with the surprising play of Jelani Jenkins.
For him it's all about the potential because he's not by any means a finished product as a linebacker. Not even sure I'd call him a wrap-up tackler. It's easy to get distracted by all the touchdowns in 2014, his work as a running back, his returns, etc. They're valid because they show the way he moves and his athletic ability, burst, etc. But you want to evaluate his linebacker work and that's why I go back to the 2013 tapes. That tape against UCLA in 2013 above is an incredible game for a linebacker. Checking out this TCU-Ole Miss game...Paul Dawson #47 looking very very good, quick recognition and trigger. Another undersized LB.
