Since there has been some talk of Rex Ryan and the Dolphins, I was wondering what former players or coaches would absolutely make you sick working for this team. I am speaking about hated rivals or coaches. The mere sight of these hated faces would make you question your fanhood. I will start...Nearly cried as a grown man the day we signed Chad Pennington. Hated him with a passion. Would see him on the Jet sideline or waving a towel, I could almost throw up. Another was the signing of Thurman Thomas, Dolphin killer. How about Cris Carter? always thought he was a big phony. HATED Jim Harbaugh as a player...hated him. Have hated Rex since the day he became the "fat blowhard mouth of the Jets" Now I sit here and ponder, Can Rex or Harbaugh help this team, Like the way Chad did for that one season? Can I put away my disgust and root for these guys? Hard to swallow that pill. Who would make you sick?

Honestly I don't hate any players or coaches unless they play dirty. For example I wouldn't want Suh even though he's amazing.

Thanks for reminding me of Rodney Harrison..cheap shot artist. Would have made it impossible to be a fan with him on board.

I think most people, myself included, get angry when we see someone who we think is incompetent and doesn't deserve what they have.

Some people clearly think that is Philbin and they are blind with rage.

I would say that a better example would be Herm Edwards. I don't think he has any business in being an NFL head coach.

I could only pray that the Dolphins never go after that kind of guy.

I think Rex is a very competent defensive coordinator who is capable of making almost any game competitive via his schemes.

As long as a coach can show me that he does something well, I'll defend his opportunity to do his job.

With some guys it's about personnel acquisition while others its about motivation or scheming.

Coaching is about appreciating where you are on the spectrum and hoping you can be successful with whatever type you have in place.

As far as players, I'm more insulted when I hear someone who just sounds incredibly stupid and uneducated. I'd really prefer not to have to root for those guys.

Well a lot of people felt Rex Ryan put a bounty of sorts on Reggie Bush a few years ago.

I do hate Rex Ryan and don't want him associated with the Dolphins, because I have developed a healthy dislike for him.
... But he would be the antithesis of Joe Philbin, so that's not a bad thing.

Welker at this point I wouldn't be too excited about. Although once he walked out on the field, of course i'd be rooting for him.

I'm going to be honest: despite hating the Jets as much as any other self-respecting Dolphins fan, I've always thought Rex Ryan is a good coach. I think the fact that he went 8-8 last year with Geno ****ing Smith at QB and won 3 games this year with an even worse Geno ****ing Smith at QB is pretty good evidence of this. Back when fans still defended Sparano around these parts, I went on the record saying I'd rather have Rex Ryan as a head coach.

I think there are better head coaching choices out there, but I'm probably one of the few fans on this board who wouldn't be completely turned off by the prospect of Rex Ryan as a head coach. I'd like to see what he could do provided he had a good offensive coordinator and a GM who provided him a QB in the neighborhood of competent.

I'm 100% with you. Honestly I don't think Rex is stupid about offense either, I just think he doesn't understand how to run a successful offense. I mean you can't be a great DC without understanding the offensive side IMO.

I think if he had legitimate talent and a strong OC he'd be fine.

I hate to agree with the both of you but....He would be a good fit with us and make us relevant. Imagine the future Jet and Patriot games!....still would be a while to be ok with that...but I could

I was just going to add - knowing the attitude Rex Ryan has, imagine how ready he would have Miami to play the Jets twice a year.

I kinda got off topic, as to the OP I'm pretty much with DJ. Once they become a Miami Dolphin, I usually give a clean slate. Tom Brady would probably disgust me the most, but I imagine I'd get over it pretty quick if he had anything left in the tank.

I could get past the history with RR, but I can't get beyond his loud-mouthed, dumb game-planning, stuid-azzed self. He'd be a good DC if he could keep his mouth shut, but I doubt he could do that.

My hate for Rex was pure jealousy and now that he's on the puts I can admit that. He was so close to making the jets a Super Bowl team. The ****ing jets.

I want that loud mouth confident ridiculous mother ****er here. Imagine what he could do with our d talent.

As for players: Vick, Hernandez, rice, Ray Lewis. Basically if you belong behind bars but aren't due to being an nfl athlete, **** you

Nobody would make me sick if they came to be here, because they'd be here to help, as a Miami Dolphin. Chances are, if I hated them elsewhere, its because they're good at what they do. That would make it good for the Miami Dolphins if they ended up here, so... why hate them then.

Vick, Big Rape, Hernandez, wife beaters, etc.

If you do heinous illegal ****, like murder, rape, spousal abuse, animal torture, molestation, I don't want them on the team and I don't care how good of players they are. Football is just a game at the end of the day.

The standard medical response for ganggreen for 100's of years was amputation before death. Just sayin.

Don't need nobody wasn't even good enough to be a jester on the team.
