The Official GoT Season 5 thread HBO Show Discussion Only Official trailer - season 5
GoT all 5 teasers. All of them super quick, but any new footage is good at this point. We're getting closer brahs!
That aspect ratio is so terrible. Who compiled that and why do they stink at video? This is going to be a pivotal season. It seems like a lot of material from the fourth book, A Feast for Crows, is going to be cut or merged with material from the simultaneously-occurring fifth book, A Dance with Dragons. So season 5 will see the show reach material parity with the books. Two more books, two more seasons. The show is definitely going to finish before the books. Can't wait to see Doran Martell on screen at last. Alexander Siddig was a great casting choice. Loved him on Deep Space Nine.
Maybe you should ask him for an Encore. I'm sure he will respond in a Flash. Seriously though, I can't wait for the Game of Thrones season Premiere.

That video was shown at SDCC 2014. Siddig was a great casting choice for Doran Martell. I'll say that a million times if I have to.
Never heard of him, but I trust TPTB. What has he been in? I'm liking that Rosabell Sellers casting... I know that.
Is that the episode where Obi Won Kenobi gives Luke a lightsaber? He looks the part. I like his voice too. Fits with Doran's wise, confident, quiet, plotting demeanor.

didn't read any posts here and will not but since i don't want spoilers... Since Verizon hooked me up with free HBO till June 30th i just recently got in Game of Thrones and its awesome. Watched season 1 all last week and spent all day sunday binge watching season 2 and knocked out 8 of 10 episodes.
Pretty much a table-setting episode. I am kind of surprised that we didn't start in Dorne and instead started with the flashback.
The show's rewrites and plot changes are becoming incoherent, to the point where they've generated plot holes for no good reason.
The first two episodes of this season were good, but not great, but I really enjoyed the latest episode. Back to old GoT standard, I thought. I can't comment on the similarity to the books now, as haven't read as far as this, but for a TV-only GoT'er it was a pleasing episode. Brothel bouncer "it's good luck to rub a dwarf's head" Tyrion "it's even better luck to suck a dwarf's ****"
S05E01 was good. E02 was awful, probably the worst in the series. E03 was a bounce back, but the big plot changes are going to bite them in the *** later.
This may have been the first episode where I really enjoyed Stannis' scenes. Maybe it had to do with Jon's interaction with him, but I thought he was great.
It's refreshing to see Stannis interacting with someone other than Davos or Melissandre. I thought the show was really good, and, as a book reader, I'm excited to be in the dark again with how things are going to turn out.
Probably better that Jon turned down Stannis' offer. Stannis is the kind of guy who would use Jon to win the throne for himself, and then execute Jon for abandoning the Night's Watch once things had settled down. I'm really looking forward to what Sansa does back in the North. She has spent the last 4 seasons getting crapped on, so hopefully she can start punching instead of being the bag all the time. Unlikely with what we know about Ramsay, but this will be her trial by fire.
I think this season has been rather weak. I still love the show and yes I realize it the beginning of a season and you can't sustain the last season with the battle at the wall... but still. Tyrion just happening to run into what's his name (I'm not going to look it up but you know who I mean). Figures he'd never get all the way to Mereen.
