Several of us were mentioning this possibility last week but I have to admit that I didnt think this staff was creative enough to make such a move. After all this is the same staff that had Jenkins buried in the depth chart until he finally got his chance due to injuries.:wink2:

    Well I was wrong

Doesn't surprise me that ideas are stolen from this forum.

Good to see the we are open to adapting as needed , let's face it one or two TD's as opposed to FG's could mean the difference between a playoff birth and not.

He was a top rated TE coming out of high school and played TE at Oregon before being switched to the defense.

I think he can be a definite target inside the red zone and I'm glad to see that the coaching staff is looking at him as a possible TE replacement while Clay recovers from his injury.

Here is a question. If he shows something positive at the position do you consider using him even after Clay is healthy? Do you consider a position switch if he is extremely effective?

Of course. I would. We need a red zone threat.

Why not? We don't have a great need for him on D and he is a freak physically. Don't know how good his hands are.

I was thinking this just now... what if he takes so well to the position that they keep using him at TE and he eventually makes the switch full time? Would be pretty crazy...

Don't see a full on position switch , but using him like Watt or even more is definitely more than a possibility imo . It could be great use of a player and using your roster and spots very efficiently. Surprised if we don't see him on offence today to be honest.

Absolutely, he is only the 6th or 7th best defensive lineman on the Dolphins at this time, but he could possibly end up being one of the two best TE's on the roster.

    Let me get this right

Jordan hasn't made a catch since high school
Lets hope he improves at the position he's playing NOW before
we load his plate with unrealistic expectations of playing tight end

Why not? We could use a fast, tall, and red zone monster TE. If Jordan became that, it would make him worth the draft cost. Yeah, a long term solution for replacing Wake would still be needed, but right now we are more than good along the DL.

Kudos to this coaching staff if they are getting creative and finding ways to use the players we have effectively.

In philbin's press conference here the reporter seems to imply he was on the field last week as a reciever. I must have missed that.

He was in split wide left, uncovered, prior to DT rushing TD, but Denver called time before we snapped it. RT threw it and he bobbled the ball a few times before catching it. The play was whistled for TO.

how could you have missed that ? jordan was flanked wide to left all by himself, wasn't even covered and denver had to take a timeout because of that

Jordan was signaling to Tannehill for a good 10 seconds too to snap the ball, but I guess he didn't see him.

The view I saw was drawn back and more focused on Dion. I was at a bar and couldn't really hear what was said or rewind.

I have no idea how his hands are... but I wouldnt judge them soley on a half assed catch after the play had already been blown dead.

Who knows, have a 2yr old running around during 4pm games (1pm games hes napping) so probably had something to do with that. Unless it was final drive where i was walking dog after giving up hope.Thats one thing tanny can do better is snapping the ball to take advantage of a confused defense. Saw at least once in denver where he let them get away with it and them finally calling timeout...maybe that was it

He was switched to defense for a reason and it's probably not because they thought while playing awesome TE he would be an awesome defender

Yeah, was it Denver who called TO?

I remember seeing it and hoped Tanny would've seen him. He almost missed it, though.

Tannehill couldn't have thrown Jordan the ball without him checking in as eligible receiver with the referee and it being announced to the defense.
