Came across in Pop Sci 100 best innovations, quite a game changing invention.

Wow, I have been away helping care for my daughter who broke her leg. First there was no WiFi and now it will not talk to my computer. Anyway, I missed this. What a very, very cool concept. I hope it works, it solves a number of issues in one stroke!

Question is how are the greenhouse gases harvested. I mean basically you need a Newlight Plastics plant attached to every coal plant, every car, etc.

If it is connected to fossil fuel plants that will hasten the demand for electric cars, right?

Question harvesting too but either the multiple pantents prevent this from being dislosed in detail or I just haven't looked hard enough.

Would guess coal plant burnings aren't seeked out yet, cleanest sources will be used first until demand dictates otherwise.

And I hope your daughter recovers completely.

Very indirectly. I guess what you're thinking is we could increase the number of fossil fuel plants and therefore energy output without fear of releasing greenhouse gases but that doesn't account for the diminishing supply of fossil fuels nor the unpleasant effects from mining them (strip mining, etc).

It's a nice idea but I just wonder about the practicality of it making a dent. The real answer probably still has to be solar/wind/hydro. Or fusion.

Good points. Tied together with fusion and battery technology, all suggested by other threads, we could see an energy picture which would be as radically different as the TVA was in the 30s.
