The refs were too much for us. It wasn't the fault of Tannehill, Philbin, Clay, or whoever you may think. We just got beat by a very good "Official" team, hard to call holds on our Dline when you have to face the refs. **** you Lions for roughing Tannehill and **** you refs for not calling it more.
Yeah okay, if that happened to Tom Brady like it did to Tannehill, you would be seeing flags non stop.
We lost because we stopped them with 3-4 minutes left in the game and we couldn't close them out. Blaming it on the refs is ridiculous.
A top defense doesn't let a game winning drive with minutes left. Miami settled for FG's and Tannehill missed Wallace deep. Running game was non-existant against the aggressive D-Line. Fumbled at start of second half.
A top defensive team won't call timeouts for the offense either. Who knows if we would have won or not (I'm guessing the game would have gone to OT) but I've never seen a team call defensive timeouts like this.
The ref's did NOT lose this game for the Dolphins. The players on the field lost the game. The offense failed to get a first down when they needed to late in the game. The defense once again failed to make a play to prevent the Lions from taking the ball down the field and scoring a TD with less than 30 seconds to go in the game. If blaming the ref's makes you happy, so be it, but it just wasn't their fault the Dolphins lost today.
Even if it had been, do you really think the Dolphins would have stopped the Lions would have stopped the Lions from making a few inches on fourth down? Especially when the defense couldn't stop them from driving down the field for nearly 70 yards in the closing minutes of the game? This is just how the Dolphins have been for well over a decade. When the game is on the line in the closing minutes, they find a way to lose the game, instead of winning it. You would think we all would be used to it by now.
Sure you would. But that doesn't mean it would have been the right call because he gets way too many calls. I really don't have the feeling the officiating had an impact on the game.
The players cost us the game. Clay not catching the ball, the defence once again folding like a cheap suit with the game on the line. Allowing a team to drive the length of the field in 2:44 when they have done next to nothing all game is a choke job, pure and simple. And for the love of God, please stop calling timeouts for the opposition when they are driving at the end of the game.
We lost the game, purely because the Lion's man for man, coach for coach, we're slightly better period. This post is ridiculous and im awaiting a response as to why it's relevant to keep it open Paul? . The lions had nearly 100yds in penalties and i thought the refs in this hostile home environment did well for our phins
always relevant to question the refs. They are humans. Humans make mistakes. Humans can be persuaded to make mistakes. But it looks like someone else moved it here so I'll shut up now
