Salary commitments: 2014: $1,007,048 2015: $1,315,572 Obviously as we're partially into the 2014 season we won't have to pay him all of that $1.0 million. Probably something like $600k.
I endorse this move. We were one hamstring away from: Daniel Thomas, starting RB for YOUR Miami Dolphins.
There are questions if it is legit, it makes a lot of sense especially considering hickey's relationship with tampa bay. hopefully it is for a 6th rounder.
i call bull**** on twitter until schefter or someone else confirms it, damn would i be pissed now if this turns out to be a duck...
This is a rumor.. Don't think it's legit omar is reporting Hickey is on the practice field and not working a deal.
I'll save judgement until I see what we gave up for him. This kid has been a scrub for 1.5 years now. He hasn't played much better than Daniel Thomas, tbh. Anything more than a 4th and I'm going to be upset.
IMO When your line doesn't give the back space he's going to struggle unless he is absolutely elite. Look no further than Daniel Thomas so far to show you what offensive line push can accomplish.
Moderating on this forum has been on the decline. They have lost a lot of talent, and just haven't been able to replace those pieces.
I decided to look at some '12 highlights. Obviously if he can return to this form it would be a great pick up. Has Tampa's run blocking been that bad for the last few years? I guess that is the question.
Would have been nice though, not gonna lie. He's gotten a lot of flack the last two years but they have no line or qb.
I would be a fan of the move if it was a 4th or lower. His rookie campaign is nothing to thumb your nose at. He's been injury-prone since then, but is a great in-between-the-tackles and receiving back when healthy. His cost is low, as CK stated, and having the rights to him if he resurges would be a huge boon for the team when put up against the option of drafting a rookie. We would be, most likely, sinking a draft pick of a running back anyways so why not? He's on a bad team and injured. I think there's some gold to be had here.
so underrated that guy, his underrated speed, vision, patience would translate so well in our offense, imo....to bad it probably won't happen
Yeah looks like someone tweeted it as an idea to ESPN and this buffoon George Kurtz retweeted it as fact. Reading comprehension is important George.
Maybe she deleted some tweets but from what I read she came off as an excited fan moreso than reporting anything.
Haters completly clueless as usual. Please try to know what your talking about before rambling off garbage. When Tampa had some balance, Martin was almost elite as a rookie.... he than missed most his sophomore season which is for the best because that team was awful. Tampa is still a hot pile of garbage on offense in this his third year, .... For a mid round pick we'd be getting a steal!"Rather have Daniel Thomas"......you must be intoxicated. Thomas didn't make the team and is back due to other injuries. He's still one fumble from maybe never playing football again. I don't care that he's gotten a few nice runs through gaping holes, he's not deserving of 10+ carries a game, on any team. Marshawn Lynch was a throw away in a bad team's fire sale as well. Martin could very well become our best playmaker, for a 2nd day pick or two.
