Thought it'd be interesting to have this weekly, like the President does. See if it fluctuates. Right now do you approve of the job our head coach, Joe Philbin, is doing? (Vote in the POLL, don't just reply to this post)
I'd be on board with firing him today if I were 100% certain that it wouldn't hurt our chances to attract and secure a top tier coaching candidate.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I would like to hear the reasoning behind the approval of Philbin. Unless of course it's someone just trolling.
how has one person actually voted in favor of Philbin. Maybe there's a reason here why our team needs at least one half of football agianst good teams, or at least several drives before they start playing well. Maybe its because this coaching staff does a very poor job of preparing this team to play.
Poll not showing up on my phone. I thought philbin should of been fired last year and so far he has done nothing but reinforce that opinion for me. Personally I think the raiders have the right idea. They are free to openly court a new hc. We should follow their lead and promote lazor and openly make our desires known.
Asked wife... she said "Is this for Fillman.. Feldman?" "Yes" I reply She says "I'm gonna say it's skewed because people wanting to really love the team feel like they gotta love the coach too. So maybe 50% of people blame players instead of the coach. The unconscious ones like blaming the players not the coach." I tell her the current approval rating is 6%. "Oh good." she replies "I'm glad people are actually thinking with their head." I reply, "What else would they think with?" Her: "I'm thinking it all depends on how conscious the people doing the rating are. Most people just see the player not doing the play well and so think 'Oh the player is not doing well'... but they don't think beyond that. So it all depends on who is giving the rating." Me: "So what does that mean? We have smart guys on the board?" "Yah."
We lost to GB mainly because they have Rodgers, if Philbin had Rodgers GB could've had Lombardi as HC and we still win by 20.
Why dont you make her an account of her own so she can share her great insights with us directly rather than your riveting blow by blow reenactments.
Wow, we are 2-3, I'm not the largest Philbin supporter it is a bit early to hit the eject button. I do think they are being to clever by half most of the time instead of just trusting the players
The poll doesn't ask if you want to fire him right now. The poll asks if you approve of the job he is doing. It's similar to a presidential approval poll. You might think the president is doing a lousy job, but you don't want him impeached.
How do you know retaining him was not more of a negative that Ross doesn't know what he is doing? Joe should not have been in this position to begin with. He should have exited with Irish.
I agree that he should have been fired after 2012. However, at this point, you've committed to him, yeah? Would Ross look hasty or emotional to go fire him now?
Because then CiF would start PM'ing her nonstop and that's a can a worms none of us are ready to deal with. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4
I have been a supporter for him until now. The team made a mistake by not cleaning out everyone in the offseason. It is a shame I had high hopes for him.
I don't know how he made it through bully gate to be honest, its pretty obvious that he isn't ever going to amount to anything as a head coach.
So, because I dislike the coaching of a guy who has an overall losing record as head coach and whose teams consistently demonstrate the same flaws, I must be a drunken idiot who doesn't really watch the games? Okay.
Im not sure if im understanding right, but if youre saying they are practicing "death by overanalysis" i agree in some cases...the time outs for instance.Im surprised there are this many yes votes judging from the board lately. I agree its too early. The grass isnt always greener, and i'm sick of starting over.
Didnt mean to offend you. But are you saying that you pore over game film and spend hours studying before forming an opinion? Bc that's what it takes to even come close to an informed & objective conclusion. I personally don't think that anyone who took a long look at these games would be so sure about Philbin one way or the other. The GB game especially, you can say the coaches blew it at the end but how was Miami ahead late to begin with? The players? How convenient.
I would guess that even if Philbin were doing a great job, if his players and fans mainly doubted him that still wouldn't be a good thing. Perception certainly matters.
Absolutely perception matters. If the players are doubting the staff it will show, mainly thru lack of effort and discipline. Have you seen much of that? Fan perception is different, based mainly on results/wins and losses. Is McCarthy a better coach than Philbin? Most people would say yes. Rodgers is superior to Tannehill in every way imaginable, so how do you explain 24-20 with 6 seconds left? If Philbin & McCarthy switched QBs does GB still win the game?
Need to stop hiring assistant coaches for HC and actually start hiring a real head coach who's a real leader.
i like this new guy.. team played hard, thats why i said let him sink or swim himself..you don't fire a guy who's team is playing hard..im pissed off as hell for several reasons within his control, but gotta let it play out. we shall see on sunday.
