Sad to say but hindsight... these songs are better than alot of today's music as well. Hell even News was better in the 90s:
Ill go by what I was listening to in that time: Early to mid 90s: Anything by bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, RHCP. Late 80s era hard rock like Guns n Roses("Use Your Illusion" albums), Extreme, Van Halen. Also Genesis/Phil Collins and Eric Clapton were going strong at that time. Mid 90s: Smashing Pumpkins, Collective Soul, Silverchair, Alice in Chains, STP, Soundgarden, NIN. 90s Rap-Biggie, Nas, 2Pac, Wu Tang, BTIH Late 90s: Limp Bizkit, Korn, Blink 182, Everclear, Sugar Ray, Foo Fighters, Staind, Eminem.
lot of bad music in the 90s. Even Van Halen and completely gone to crap by then. There was some good metal music. Crue, Metallica. then it kind of sucked until the emergence of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, STP and Pumpkins and Foo Fighters.
Man up *******:
Now on to some ghetto fab deliciousness of the 90's
Now for the stoner crew:
The goth 90's
Either I'm getting old or today's music pales into comparison of what the 90's era produced. Truly a golden era of music. Looking back, in no particular order: 1) RATM debut 2) Pearl Jam 10 3) Submile 40 Oz's to Freedom 4) Depeche Mode, Violator 5) Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blood Sugar Sex Magik 6) STP 7) The Chronic 8) Cypress Hill 9) NIN Pretty Hate Machine
true, but I avoided all new music in the 2000's. In 2001, house was robbed along with all my CDs. went years without buying new music, basically not until iPod came out.
why isn't this here? Boik and FinD edit.

I'm naturally biassed to the 90s since thats when I came of age. 90/91 Jr. High. 91/92-94/95 High School. 95/96-99/00 College. I listened to a lot of Rock and Country that decade, and it makes up about half of my music collection, and about 75% of my actual CDs. I agree totally that the 2000s were horrible. Rock tapered off, getting worse every year, and I quit listening to Country shortly after 9/11, when it got super conservative and religious tenfold. I was just talking to my wife about how I listen to the 60s/70s/80s & 90s channels on Sirius Radio, but I have truthfully never heard half the songs they play on the 2000s channel, and hate 90% of the ones I know. They were all just total crap for years on end. Recently, I've started to like the new music again the last three years or so. At least a Hell of a lot more than what came before it! At least 3 or 4 songs get played every month that I tend to really enjoy.
