La canfora article this morning- http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...office-has-dolphins-on-path-for-more-turnover
lol I don't think it's true, unless Ross is a moron and doesn't realize that Harbaugh won't ever leave California. The Raiders have a bigger shot at him than we do in an open market.
The same was said about LeBron twice. People are always sure about such things until they happen. Frankly, at this point, I'd be surprised if Harbaugh didn't leave. Then it's between Michigan and Miami, one would have to assume.
Watch us trade a high pick, he comes in and then leaves for college like Saban. Honestly I want Harbaugh nowhere near this team.
This franchise is too snakebitten for something like this to actually happen. Maybe we trade the picks and Harbaugh's plane crashes.
We may be in need of a QB next year so giving up a first round pick for a coach if it comes to that would be counterproductive IMO.Unless of course Harbaugh thinks he can bring out Tannys potential.
I think Ross's love affair with Harbaugh is so great that if he is willing to come here, there is nothing Joe Philbin can do short of a Super Bowl appearance that will save his job. Three years later and he is still over the moon for his Michigan Man. It was love at first sight.
My guess is it's a 2nd round pick if it happens, or even gets that far. Harbaugh wouldn't handcuff himself
You know whether you like a coach or not, in my personal opinion, you hired him and while he is there he needs complete authority to do his job as he sees fit. If you don't like it, fire him. However if he wants to start Moore as the article states it should be his decision as head coach.
I love Harbaugh but, hes gotta totally want to be here, 100 committed to the task, no talking into..no doubt, shouldn't be hard to detect that, but if ross doesn't understand this simple concept then he will make the mistake of hiring the wrong coach.
What bothers me about Harbaugh is his thinking Kaep is an NFL QB and hitching his wagon to a guy with below average arm talent and no ability to read a defense. Is that what he would do here? Also his absolute thirst for power bothers me. Real leaders don't need absolute power.
Everyone knows Jim Harbaugh is a major d-bag and his act eventually gets old. He can get away with it if the roster is full of talented players. That won't be the case here. Pass.
Is the problem in San Francisco a power struggle? Or is it that they're playing games with him? It's my understanding that he's upset that they won't give him a lucrative contract extension and their stance is basically "meh, if he wants to leave, let him leave." Harbaugh definitely has an ego, and I don't think that's a bad thing. A man with a big ego isn't going to be happy with that situation.
Lol..it's obvious your tying to bait me.. Kaepernik went into the toughest place to play in sports, and came within one foot, one throw of leading his team to a 2 nd Super Bowl.. there are different ways to win football games in today's nfl. Any coach needs what Harbaugh is not getting.
Not trying to bait you at all. Yes there are different ways to win in the NFL, but a team with Kaep at the helm will never win a Superbowl without a heroic effort by the other parts. He is not even close to being a good QB. What is he not getting? Serious question. He's getting talent, that is all any coach should need. Worry about your damn contract when it is over, he signed it and he should get paid what he signed for until it is over if the FO doesn't want to extend yet. Even if they don't wish to extend at all it shouldnt impact his performance. He should have included an opt out in his contract if he didn't want to work through it.
As a Phin fan and Wolverine fan, my wish is that Malzahn comes to Miami and Harbaugh goes to Michigan.
If Jim Harbaugh comes to Miami during the same offseason when Michigan's head coaching position is open, then he passes the test. There should not be any further doubts about his commitment to staying in pro football. There was a recent note from Jason Cole saying the Harbaugh is unlikely for Michigan, that he wants to stay in the NFL because college football puts too much of a strain on him with respect to recruiting trips and such, whereas pro football allows him time to spend with his family. That actually resonates, and we've heard that exact sentiment repeated from people that have been involved in college football. They say in pro football you can just concentrate on coaching whereas in college football the recruiting game can really take it out of you. If Jim Harbaugh agrees to come to Miami, you get him. And it almost doesn't matter what it costs. Sorry but no 9th pick in the 1st round (eherm, Ted Ginn, Ryan Tannehill) is going to change the fate of this franchise as much as Jim Harbaugh as the head coach.
To be fair to Harbaugh, he's made 3 straight NFCCG's with a veteran QB he inherited (Smith) and a 2nd round pick (Kaepernick).
While I would love to see Harbaugh as the next Dolphins HC, I hope this report that Ross is willing to offer draft picks to the 49ers to get Harbaugh is false. The team has so many holes to fill, it can not afford to give up what would likely be a first round pick and possibly other picks for Harbaugh. The 49er's obviously know how much Ross covets Harbuagh and would use this to get as many draft picks as possible in return for allowing Harbaugh to leave a year before his contract runs out. Personally I don't think Harbaugh has any interest in relocating his family from the West Coast to South Florida. He will have plenty of other teams interested in him as their HC after the 2015 season. So hopefully Harbaugh will make it known that he has no interest in signing a long term deal with the Dolphins and Ross will be prevented from wasting draft picks on a coach who probably doesn't want to be in Miami in the first place.
K The front office has undermined the coach I believe when it came to players he wanted to get rid of, and they left doubt that he will be the coach moving forward, can't coach like that, didn't deserve it.. I think he wanted to trade vernon Davis, and got the veto.
I actually dont think we have that many holes. I think harbaugh can elevate out talent to a contender. it's like having a race car and philbin is a soccer mom when it comes to driving, harbaugh is a race car driver...
If Kaepernick's arm talent is "below average" what is Ryan Tannehill's? The above is just silly. There are flaws to Kaepernick's game, but arm talent isn't one of them.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 3m Speculation looms about #Michigan & Jim Harbaugh… but sources tell me #Michigan prefers #Ravens coach John Harbaugh over Jim at this point.
Gil Brandt too: Gil Brandt @Gil_Brandt 6m As I said last week, don't be shocked if this marriage happens. MT @RapSheet: Michigan prefers John Harbaugh over Jim at this point.
Labeling Kaepernick's arm talent as "below average" is so far beyond the pale as to reach a stage when you can actually label an opinion to be factually incorrect, which is incredible.
Can I just ask..what besides Malzhans offense makes anyone think he would be a good NFL HC? I ask because I really dont know..wasnt rhetorical.
