Landry is a rookie and he has made some rookie mistakes but at some point he may start as a WR and they will need Thigpen as a returner.
Bingo. The good thing about this, if they put Thigpen back in that role (it sounds like they signed him to the PS) then Landry won't get himself killed back there. That one last week that he didnt fair catch and he got smoked made me cringe. Kid is tough though, I'll give him that. He's taken some big shots this year already in 3 games.
But with the Dolphins not being in a place where they can afford a lot of mistakes and since Thigpen can do the job, why not activate him?
Let Landry learn for crips sake, he shown enough early that he's got good skills to be a good returner..punt returner is a different beast it takes some reps to adjust to all the ball flights comin at you..he will fine, way better than Thigpen.
For some rookie receivers, the speed of the game is really hard to adjust, and it makes them think before they catch a pass. Landry had great hands in LSU, but now he's seeing how defensive backs/linebackers close in compared to college football, it's gonna take time to get used to.
A ton is too big of a word, however he has what, 8 passes thrown his way. I am too lazy to look it up. It is not like he is getting a lot of passes to justify two drops.
Just sayin...Marion Grice was just available on waivers. Bruce Arians' Cards scooped him up for a look.
Landry Has the goods and smarts to be a good returner..don't take his reps.. I guess folks forget how he ripped up the field in his first preseason game too. There is gonna be some ups and downs, let him settle in, let him gauge the spin of the ball before you do whatever it is some are suggesting.. Kid runs thru the smoke at full speed, and cuts at full speed on returns, which results in great angles, we know he's got hands, give him a little time to find the timing.
I never thought Thigpen was better than mediocre as a returner. I think Landry has the potential to be much better. Hopefully this is just a case of the team hedging in case Landry can't be coached out of the mistakes. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
You don't need to justify them though. Just gauge whether his hands are a problem, and there is no history to suggest they are
