They will probably give it to Miller.... rather Williams start though.. If Melvin / Gurley is there next offseason, it would be too tempting..

Been Miller in week 1 and 2...wouldn't change now unless he's too hurt to go. In that case it would have to be Williams.

Yeah, either way, I think they will get a lot of reps, so it doesn't really matter. If Williams does good, he will get even more reps.

Miller is Miller. Hasn't been great, but hasn't been bad (at running). His receiving skills suck, but I haven't seen anything from the others to think they are better.
I'd rotate in the backs and go with the hot hand.

I don't care about Miller starting…but they have got to get paddle-hands off the field on 3rd down.

    Anybody but Lamar Miller.

Or you could let Miller start, yank him after the first play (preferably a pass play that doesn't target him), and let someone else finish the game.

I don't get the Miller hate. Is it just the dropped pass? He's averaging 4.8 ypc and running as hard as he's run with the Dolphins. Williams has been solid and runs hard, but I don't see any reason to play him ahead of Miller right now. It doesn't really matter all that much though. They'll both get plenty of carries I'd imagine.

It's his inability to pick up the blitz.

For me its the drive killing dropped passes. Im over it, seen one too many. I want to see Thomas and Williams in there.

Williams looks like the harder runner, but I expect Miller to get the rock again. Both need to be used properly in this game for us to win. I really like Williams, but i'm no expert.

Miller has been just fine running the ball. He's clearly not a great reciever, and very clearly can't adjust to a pass thats not right on target, but he should be given the vast majority of the carries until Moreno is healthy or one of the other guys PROVES that he's more deserving.

Tannehill desperately needs a running back that defenses will respect, Gordon or Gurley would be that... With Moreno gone a few games, the playaction is now useless to us, everyone knows we're going to pass most of the time now, no one respects Miller. Just imagine having one of those two and Moreno splitting carries next season..

Yeah Williams has shown some real attitude in his running lately. I think he's taking cues from Knowshon that way. See what the two young guys have. Hickey did that before in Tampa with guys like Bobby Rainey and Mike James. Why not?

Yeah, that's what I mentioned in the OP. I agree. That's the best way to go, imo.

That's a rumor. Martin has been limited thus far due to health. There's a rumor that Rainey is keeping the job even as Martin is getting healthy. We're gonna have to see that on a few Sundays before I believe it. I think they probably work out some sort of common 50/50 type of arrangement. And that could gradually shift into Martin's favor once the clock strikes twelve on Cinderella with Rainey.

You had me at Melvin Gordon, but I'd be fine with either. I haven't seen Nebraska play; any thoughts on Ameer Abdullah?

Man, what a killer it is losing Knowshon.

We just have to manufacture some type of running threat, especially when your QB is struggling,,, or else we're doomed. I really hope one of the rooks can step up.

  25. I'ld like to see them sign A.P. and let him pound the rock for us since Minny is stupid enough to waste his talent by keeping him benched. I garauntee they make it to the playoffs with him in the backfield.

Play action only works if the running game is chewing up yards. It isn't predicated on who is back there in the sense that as long as yards are gained the LB's will freeze or step up into a hole.
