@FieldYates The Dolphins worked out former 49ers RB LaMichael James, per league source. Thoughts? Mods can you add James to title? Finger slip Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
No problem with Miller as a runner this year. However as a pass catcher...this experiment needs to end.
I don't know a lot about him just that a lot of people were really high on him before his injuries. It can't hurt. Miller isn't getting it done.
James being from Oregon, I was a big fan of his in college. He was a dynamic impact player for the Ducks. Big play threat from anywhere on the field.
I agree. I think Miller, as much talent as he has, cannot catch a ball consistently to keep this offense moving. As a runner I like him but bringing in James for screens etc is kind of exciting.
Really? Miller is averaging 4.8 ypc right now and running much harder than he has in his time with the Dolphins. His hands have certainly been suspect with the Dolphins, but that's strange when you consider that was a strength of his in college. The Hurricanes split him out at WR at times.
Miller and Thomas are just not going to get it done, this combination just doesn't have what it takes to get it done. Bring someone else in until we can get Moreno back.
That would be an interesting move if Miller is out a few weeks. Hell, I'd be inclined to sign James, then cut Thomas again. Or if you're worried about James not knowing the offense, use Thomas this week, then sign James and cut DT
Miller played in 23 games with the UM. During those games he had a total of 28 pass receptions. That works out to just a little more than 1 catch per game. So I'm not really sure how catching passes could be considered one of his strengths as a college RB. I attended all the home games he played in at UM and he never struck me as a back other teams had to be concerned with in the passing game.
If he could do 1/4 of what Sproles does for the Eagles... I still have no idea why Miami re-signed Daniel Thomas. That's like reaching for a safety blanket that's shredded with holes.
It makes sense considering the only thing out there is stuff nobody wants. He at least knows the team/offense.
We need a kick returned...I think that is why we are inquiring about James. Doubt he'd really be used in any part of our offense, but you never know. Maybe we sign him and he comes in and plays. I just think we need a return man. Doubt he'd help us in the run game.
Im all for giving James a tryout. Would be nice if we called Seastrunk ... but he's probably too development for us. I can't imagine he's much worse of a receiver or blocker than Miller though. Better runner too. Frankly, our RB situation sucks. Lamar Miller is OK but that's it. He's not a #1 or #2 RB. He but because he played for UM, fans want to give him more time... All Lamar ever did was cost us Reggie Bush.
I like this move. Good change of pace type back and maybe we can finally run a successful screen play once in this decade.
Was really surprised he never made it for San Francisco... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
He'd be a heck of a 3rd down and change of pace back too. I think he could be what we want Miller to be.
