oh god please no... can we trade a late round pick for someone else? anything but that guy... I rather sign Felix Jones than bring this guy back..
Already signed. -1 for Hickey. I thought we were done with this guy for good. We have LaMichael James and Lache Seastrunk available and still bring him back. @flasportsbuzz 1m The Dolphins and Daniel Thomas have agreed on a contract for the rest of the season, agent Tony Fleming tells me.
He's not a good RB, but we are fortunate that he is available and fits a major need. I know he's available for a reason, but he fits right back in without missing a beat. Seastrunk or James isn't going to have the immediate (mediocre) impact Thomas will.
Unreal. We finally make the right decision to cut this guy, and we just bring him right back. I get it... you know what you're getting in Daniel Thomas so you're eliminating the risk in bringing in someone new, the problem is, what we're getting, isn't very good at all. I'd rather take a risk and take a chance on someone new with the chance on them being good. Such a typical move. So frustrating.
Williams and possibly Darkwa will still get their carries. You need someone like Thomas for the passing game, pass protection. You can't rely on 2 undrafted rookies. If I'm not mistaken Williams is the reason the punt was blocked.
What? Ray Rice is better than anything we have now and we've given second/third chances to domestic violence offenders before - Randy McMichael, Brandon Marshall. The guy deserves a second chance from his mistakes which I think he genuinely apologized for.
He's suspended indefinitely right now so it doesn't matter. Do you really think the NFL will lift that right now?
The reaction here is funny, but unfortunately predictable. Signing Thomas as an emergency because our two top backs went down yesterday is not a bad move. I would have rather seen them sign Lache Seastrunk, but something weird is up there because no one seems to want him despite some talent. It's not like the second coming of Walter Payton is sitting out there on the FA market right now. This is a desperation move because the Dolphins are in a desperate situation at HB. As some people have already mentioned, he knows the system and has experience. No one needs to freak out. On what grounds would they lift it? That would cause an even bigger nightmare for the NFL. I don't see that happening, but even if they did, no team is touching that guy for at least a while, if ever.
If you guys want Tannehill to survive the next couple of weeks, this move makes the most sense. Otherwise, you've got two rookies (yes they've been promising) and a player who doesn't know the offense / blitz pickup calls (if we sign someone other than Thomas) protecting him.
also think if Moreno or Miller had been lost for the season, we would have handled this differently. Maybe a BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
I am quickly entering my "I hope they lose every game so the firings continue" mentality...After what I witnessed at the end of the first half now this.....****ing loser mentalities all around....
I feel DT is going to have a monster game next week... He's mad and running for a second chance in the NFL.
