Looks like some kicker-fodder out there: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000381516/article/cuts-tracker-player-cuts-for-all-32-nfl-teams
Bills released WR Tiquan Underwood...he's a beast in last years Madden;-/ Really shocked Ras-I Dowling can't get his **** together....he had such potential.
I'm a bit surprised that Jacoby Ford got waived thought he looked great when healthy in Oakland We cut Brown and Reynolds
Pats cut Tommy Kelly, Will Smith, and James Anderson. Guess that explains some of their recent moves to get DL. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...port-pats-cut-tommy-kelly-will-smith-anderson Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk.
I'd guess the Bills will need to cut Dustin Hopkins, since they have Carpenter and don't need 2 kickers. I think he'd be a good choice to address that need.
Seattle cut Terrell Thomas. Has a history of knee injuries (2011-12), but he can play corner or safety. Kind of a nice piece to have around. I liked him in his Giants days.
I wonder if the Bills cutting Alan Branch is an overreaction to one DUI incident that just happened to come later that night after a game. Probably not. There's probably a history behind it. But I wonder how bad. He's talented.
Given the lack of success with the Jason Fox signing I would think a little bit about signing Winston Justice who was cut by the Broncos. The Eagles cuts are always prime area for dumpster diving, IMO. LB Jake Knott, DE Joe Kruger, OL Donald Hawkins, OT Michael Bamiro, TE Blake Annen and WR Kadron Boone all have talent. Ali Villaneuva may be worth a look too.
Caplann was talking about that today, apparently he just was a bad fit in Buffalo, as in he played one snap in a preason game out of favor in Buffalo, the DUI was just the excuse they needed
You have to imagine that the person responsible for submitting the paperwork to the league office for that one was under a little bit of pressure to make sure they didn't make any typos.
Jamar Chaney cut again, this time by the Broncos. That guy looked like sure fire playmaker coming out of Miss St. I thought he played well in his rookie year and then all went downhill.
We should give Tommy Streeter a call...6-5 and runs sub 4.3 worth to put on Practice Squad and he´s a local guy
Yep. @caplannfl 8m #Bills made 11 moves today including waiving: WR Tori Gurley and K Dustin Hopkins, and releasing QB Dennis Dixon.
I was wondering the same thing... If so, let Jones get some competition, after his 4 weeks of stupidity suspension.
He's tried to catch on with two different teams and physically just couldn't hack it because of injury issue. I think he's probably about to announce retirement.
After his missed that FG last night I saw that coming and was wondering too if might go that way...the thing with veteran kickers is how often one will have a career resurgence after being cut and picked up by another team, it seems to happen at that position in the NFL than any other. In other words he would be a good gamble.
I'm cool with signing Dustin Hopkins. He was 6 of 6 on field goals last preseason (all were under 40 yards). This preseason he's booted 11 kickoffs and put 7 of them into the end zone for a touchback. He didn't kick any field goals this preseason.
I think Feely, in his one prior season in Miami, has the team's single season record for best FG pct. I'd be cool with signing Feely, but would rather have Bironas.
Hopkins has to go through waivers. Miami would have the same priority as the prior draft order at this point. Does any of the teams who drafted ahead of us, have a reason to make a waiver claim on a kicker? Feely for example, is free to sign with any team he can make a deal with. No waiver process to go through.
