Matt Moore is a better QB, IMHO.

Both make bad decisions and costly turnovers but with Moore you'd go from an abysmal deep ball passer to a well above average one. You'd lose athleticism but tannehill rarely uses his anyways. Don't want to make too much out of a pre-season game but tannehill looks like the same guy he's always been. Leaves a ton of easy tds on the field and makes backbreaking turnovers. Same Ole same Ole but Wallace is the scrub even though he gets wide open more than any wr I've ever seen deep. Blame wallace, running game and oline. The excuses have to end at some point.

I'm not shocked that a career backup might be further along in a new offense than a guy who's played in the same offense for his entire college/nfl career having to learn a new offense in his 3rd year. Its not time to panic with Tannehill. Moore is what he is, anyone starting him is not a playoff team.

This is a legit thread. It's wrong to put in the soap box.

Both QBs are up and down. Moore varies within the game, RT varies from game to game.

Moore obviously isn't the answer but let's not pretend Tannehill doesn't leave a lot to be desired. You take all the inaccuracies, bad decisions and pile it on top of the last 2 games of the season and this meaningless preseason game against the worse defense in the league and it's concerning.

I have never been as high on Tannehill as many people on here, but I have no problem stating that Tannehill is better than Moore. Moore is a quality backup QB in the NFL, but he just isn't good enough to be a starter on a regular basis.

My view of Tannehill is that this is his third year as the Dolphins starting QB and it is time to put up or shut up. He needs to prove this season that he deserves to be the starting QB for the Dolphins for several more years to come. He and the rest of the offense are still learning a new offense. So I am willing to see how he performs this season before I am willing to say if he should be the long term answer at QB for the Dolphins or not.

Right now, Tannehill still remains a huge question mark heading into the 2014 season and just like most Dolphin fans, I want him to be a success. I certainly have no desire to see the Dolphins have to start all over again in trying to find their next QB of the future. If Tannehill doesn't improve this season, a new QB just might be where the Dolphins look in the first round of the 2015 draft. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

This is last year's Buffalo game all over again. Just after Moore hit Hartline deep, up to the point he threw two picks.

Despite Dez's troll status, this is a pretty accurate statement based on what we've seen from both QB's in their time here.

But Moore never lets us down without a interception or two. Good back up because he is a gunslinger but bad because he has never changed the interception part.

Just like when chad henne was the qb these people have the blinders on making every excuse possible. If a player has a weakness I will call it out but not these people.Everytime he misses Wallace its Wallaces fault. One of the knocks on tannehill coming out of texas am was his inability to hit the longball.3 years later he still can't do it.I don't know how you teach touch but he doesn't have it.The longball problems no doubt cost us a playoff birth last year.If he only hit a couple of more we make the playoffs. The long ball is one of the easiest passes to throw especially with Wallace getting wide open at times.I don't get it because he can make every other throw.

It's funny you can tell after the bruised and bloody elbow, I could see Tannehill start to lose his focus, hold on to the ball to long, and stall the offense. He's pretty transparent and can't overcome his mental mistakes.

The long ball is an easy throw huh? So why is it such a low percentage throw?

No way this team can average philbins 25 pts a games if this guy continues to miss easy touchdowns with Wallace wide open down the field. And I mean college wide open down the field!

No, he is not better. It is true that Lazor's offense is QB friendly. The offensive schema reduces the needs for a string arm. I do believe Moore will do well if called upon due to an injury, but he is not the better QB.

The most powerful weapon on our roster is the Mike Wallace deep go route.

Tannehill is unable to use that weapon.

Matt Moore might be able to.

If Matt Moore became the starter, then it's certainly possible that Mike Wallace could return to being the homerun terror we paid him to be.

If long balls are so easy why are they completed at such a lower percentage than other throws?

Obviously RT over Moore is a political decision, because Moore has performed better. If the starting job was performance based, Moore would be the starter.
