Curious of what people think 5th grade tackle football in Georgia $550 for 8 game season as a player + various intangibles (cleats, practice pants, etc) rough layout of $750.00 per kid. I have 2 kids. Everything is volunteer. Food is purchased by the high school team and we reimburse the high-school for what we sell at the games - profit. Last year we carried forward after all expenses $57,000. We collected $14,000 in gate receipts. We have assets of $101,000. The question is : SHOULD WE BE CHARGING A $5 ADMISSION FEE TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PLAYERS? Please respond with reason for your answer
I personally don't think admission should be charged for pee-wee football, especially if it costs so much to play. The families would be basically be held hostage in such a situation, either they let their kid down, or you force them to pay $5 to watch a product they likely wouldn't if not for their child's involvement. Also, this thread is more appropriate for the lounge than the main dolphins forum.
Absolutely not. It's Pop Warner football man, the families are already paying far too much to even participate imo. The parents are out there supporting their children, not attending because it's their favorite team playing.
As a head coach of a team with our jamboree today. No way you should charge for the direct parents of the participants, they are already paying out the nose for their child to play. jmo
I don't think that anyone should ever be charged to see kids younger than high school play sports. Ever.
