http://www.miamidolphins.com/multim...s_McCain/70712160-b902-43e8-8275-ff2043333107 " if someone asks you what do you like to do in the field" McCain.." Tell ya what, I like to run, I like to chase." Quite the engaging young man. Can surely tell he's confident in his abilities. Showed some highlights from practice, kids got a sick swim move, uses his hands actively and quick, admits that he needs a lot of work but "man, when it comes to running and chasin, I'm there". Had a pass rush drill where he beat his man then Slapped his coach on the butt, don't think that was part of the drill, big boy to, def put on some weight since college..hi waisted athlete, slim through the calves, long *** legs, and they can getty'up.. Fun dude to listen to.
Came across very well in the interview imo , humble , focused , hungry. He's an athletic looking football player man , on and off the field.
Yeah I liked the segment about Tripp, their buds, Tripp is one if the first in the building every morning, says he needs to follow suit, then laughed it off....no Chris, that's not a joke buddy, you need to be in the building early just like your partner.
For anyone that was hesitant about his attitude and character, I'm sure that helped change their minds some. I think we all have been impressed with him on the field, it's good to know he's doing and saying the right things off of it as well.
I think that is not even much of a question at this point. If we keep 7 LBs, who else would we keep ahead of either of them? I guess there is a chance McCain doesn't, since he is a UDFA, but Tripp is a lock for the 53.
Seems like most of the South Fla media thinks both make the 53. I think that both start on special teams and then get more time on the field with the D as the season progresses.
while I get the coaches not wanting to completely give up on Ellerbe and Wheeler, I hope they give a lot of early season snaps to Tripp and McCain. they can't be much worse and getting some playing time can only help them get better
I expect that we'll see a lot of Tripp and McCain this season as well as Jenkins. Ellerbe and Wheeler are here this season but I wouldn't be surprised if one or both left next year. I actually like our young LBs and can see them all playing quite a bit this season and some getting starter minutes next season.
In Don Shula's first season with the Dolphins, 1970, he started two unheralded rookies at OLB and the team went 10-4. Mike Kolen, 12th round and 289th overall pick in the 1970 draft, and Doug Swift, an UDFA when it was a 17 round draft.
The efficiency and speed that he showed on the sack at 1:00 in the clip was impressive. Great inside swim move to get right by the RT and then so quick into the backfield to get the sack. He abused that RT, didn't know what hit him.
Not keeping McCain would make Irish look like he actually understood scouting. Stupidity beyond measure.
