Over the yrs DJ has taken a bunch of ribbing over "look at that Bubble!" There ya go Deej, please do rate..
Forget the bubble... look at the leverage he's playing with. Fantastic positioning... Dion... study that.
He is probably peeing his pants lol Dio does not neccessarily need that positioning, what he needs to learn is to stick a hand under the OL's pads and turn on the jets, a sort of stiff arm..keep those feet moving youngin' Now that I noticed it, look at EVERY single offensive lineman having their head turned watching Kraken..talk about RESPECT
Since it doesn't appear any of those offensive lineman are involved in doing anything else at that moment. They appear to have plenty of time to look around and see how the rookie is handling himself against one of the best in the business.
If you're referring to the long-arm move, perfected by Jason Taylor, there are two videos from one of the OTAs where both Dion Jordan and Jason Taylor talk about him learning just that. If you go on the official site, they're just before all the FinsWeekend stuff.
I know if I were at practice, got into my stance and looked up to see Cam Wake across from me I'd be like "Oh ****."
Precisely why I didn't post the link. I've no desire to dredge through there to find it. But, it is there.
Lol..The Podster....you sir are correct,I enjoy a great bubble...on my ladies and my football players.....what can I say.. 1) best uniform in the NFL. 2) perfection is perfected.. 3) he's a beautiful man. 4) perfect symmetry. 5) best body in the NFL. 6) look at the meat in his lumbar extensor region. 7) from that still photo, wake will simply pull the jersey of the rookie downward and face plant him.. 8). Lol, his freakin body is ridiculous man. 9) dude needs a reality show, or something that demonstrates to others how to be a prof football player. 10) since the self appointed easily predictable loser of a man Greg hardy/Kracken in Carolina has been exploited for what he is, a POS, there is only 1 Kracken.. RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!!!! I expect our defense to be very Good, I expect an MVP type season.
These the ones you mean? Taylor talking about Dion with video Dion from 1:20. Dion interview, at the beginning talking a bit about Taylor's presence From start. (PS - Google is your friend!)
Oh could find it easily Galant, the official website is chock full of pop ups and cookies etc so I rarely visit it
They both have pretty good pad level and leverage in that shot. I'm not sure I agree about that being holding. Hands are allowed to be on the front of the shoulder pad. He'd run into problems if he got them around to the back of the shoulder pad and/or turned Wake around.
Wish we had a pic or video from day 1 when it was reported that James put Wake down... that would be awesome and had to embarrass Wake some. Hoping to see James progress to the point of going Hulk Smash on other DEs this season, starting game 1 against the Pats.
Man, great for James to be able to go against Wake in practice. Doesn't get any better. Awesome. Good stuff.
I am very impressed with James in that picture. I think he's in pretty good shape against the best in the biz. I've seen many O-linemen block that way entire games and never get holding called. I agree with CK on that. For a 6'6 rookie and not able to get as low (can't really anyway because he has to be able to move laterally) against an All-Pro at the peak of his game, I think he's doing pretty well. I especially like the fight you can see in James' face. He is battling with some anger. Gotta have some angry intensity in the NFL, rookie or not. Can't be intimidated. But, I also agree with DJ's point #8 on Wake. Good grief.
There's two things I'm confident in about James, one, I know he's gonna get beat this year, and two, he has excellent lateral/instinctual recovery speed. A bit uncanny sometimes on film. Also, He looks to be in very good shape for a 310 lb man.. Wake is just filthy..
At this point, I think Wake would be SHOCKED if he wasn't held all day long. The NFL sure has seen to it.
