Ok, I'll admit it I love this game. I was a HUGE fan of Halo 1. Been out of the game since Halo 3. When I first saw Destiny I was like "meh". Didn't look as good as Halo and was kind of RPG looking. Boy am I glad I tried the Beta. This game is a blast. It like WOW meets Halo. The art is incredible, the story is ok this far (only beta, just tidbits), the missions are great. I personally don't spend much time in MP these days, so the departure from traditional FPS to roaming team missions is a huge plus for me. The world they created it really cool. Kind of like the Wild West meets final fantasy spirits within. It's a blast to be walking around, bump into a group of players and have a random instance drop in you head. The bad guys are challenging, the strikes are like hoard mode on drugs. Just all around a fun game. Anyone else playing in PS4? This one looks like it'll be on my play list for awhile
I passed on the chance to play the Beta, but I'll definitely be getting the game. Right now I'm getting it for XBOX One, but I may switch to PS4 if none of my live friends sound like they're going to get it.
The beta is good, but I am not in love with the game. It borrows bits and pieces from other game genres and mashes them all up, but doesn't really master any particular gameplay area. I was hoping for something new and more groundbreaking, but Destiny settles on just being competent in multiple areas without going the extra distance. I am sure most people will love it as is, but I wanted something more.
I thought there were gonna be spaceships in this game but I haven't heard anything about them. Is this to be implemented in the future?
Ended up playing the Beta because my friends wanted to play it (and I wasn't going to miss a chance to make sure they got the game) and because I was hoping to get the emblem reward yesterday. Ended up not getting to level 5 until right when the special event ended, but I love the game. The last level in Old Russia was brutal for me and the guys I was with. I'm even contemplating taking that Tuesday and Wednesday off of work to play.
If anyone needs a code for the game I might be able to obtain one since the developer is a friend of my family. Good peoples....

Really loved the Beta. The multi-player was good but I'm most excited about the go-op opportunities. The strike mission was fun, and I'm all for just running around solo or with a group and happening to have a drop ship land in your head full of baddies. Here's hoping they level opponents well
Is this going to be like GTA where PC users have to wait 10-12 months? Also, is the game going to be subscription based?
The Division will be out by then. Although I'm hearing The Division is also pulling a bait and switch on graphics like Watchdogs did. Back on topic, I really like the concept of Destiny, but a few beta reviews I've read say they borrow concepts from many games and don't really excel at any of them.
That'd be extremely unfortunate. I don't care if it is only possible with a top of the line PC, I want it to at least be possible in the retail product.

Pete, I am probably getting a PS4 soon, and my best bud here in Charlotte is begging me to get this game with it. Probably getting the bundle (we'll see)....if so hope we could play eventually! This game looks awesome
Thought for a second, hopeful, as i clicked that this might be a ladies lounge thread. No such luck. /zips Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk
I'll probably pick it up on PS4 in a couple weeks or in October. Working through the 2 games I just picked up with my new system.
BTW, if you buy the digital version of Destiny for 360/PS3, you get the Xbone/PS4 digital copy for free: http://www.joystiq.com/2014/09/05/destiny-digital-purchase-on-ps3-360-get-free-ps4-xbox-one-upgr/
Don't expect (many) Destiny reviews tomorrow. I like this approach. Just because a game is available doesn't mean you have to buy it on day one. Waiting for an informed review is not a bad thing.
2 missions in. Not bad considering i didnt even know what the game was about. But how do you do team deathmatch and what not
