I know there are probably ways around this but technically its only available if you live in an apartment building or dorm were you can't install a satellite dish. The interesting exception is if you live in the NY, Philly or SF markets. It may be an option for me since I live in the NY metro area.

I can't get this to load. What is the price? Sounds like a good option for those without DirectTV or if DirecTV ever calls my bluff when I call to cancel every year if they don't give it to me for free.

Saying it starts at $199 a season which is more than rewind at $40. I've been doing rewind but it would be nice to see the games live.

I don't qualify, shame as I would do this in a heartbeat even while keeping my Dish TV subscription. Oh well, it is a start and maybe I can find a friend who has a kid going to one of those colleges.

    Ditto

I wonder if there is a way to record the game from the stream for those weekends when I can't watch live.

I got this last year with the Madden 25 promotion. I used a HDMI cable from my computer to my TV and it was beautiful! I only had a problem logging in 1 time but got it resolved by halftime. I also watched a game at my in laws house on my phone (wife insisted on visiting). They had wifi so no big deal.

I plan on getting this. I live in a house so I'll have to give them a bogus apartment address. This is awesome news!

Not sure why the NFL hasn't caught on with their own live streaming service like MLB does... maybe they got some sort of agreement with directv and other cable companies.

In 2009 Direct TV paid $4 Billion for the exclusive rights to NFL Sunday Ticket. That contract is up after this season so it should be interesting to see what happens.

Its funny (sad?) that Sunday Ticket is much cheaper and much more accessible from pretty much every major service provider here in Canada. We get ripped off on pretty much everything else though so I'll take it.

So I'd have to "rent" the house to my wife and not allow her to have a satellite dish?

Might need to look into a work around for your IP. Address or maybe you could go ghost during the game.

Particularly with AT&T in the mix. It should become a good bit more accessible...if a little more expensive also.

It's bizarre to me that the NFL would go London before Toronto..and it's bizarre that Canadians don't embrace it more.

Why wouldn't Toronto want their own team and a part of a huge business..don't get it.

    That would work.

I got streaming last year because my landlord wouldn't allow a dish in our rented house. I'm pretty sure they'll keep making that exception.

There is a caveat, if it's anything like last year: it took until week 6 or so for them to work out all the bugs. That was pretty much all of the really good start to the season for the Phins. For example, I caught part of the first quarter of the Indy game, and then couldn't pick it back up until the third. That was really, really annoying.

**** direct TV and the NFL for making this **** exclusive. I don't want DirectTV, I just want to watch the games I want to watch on Sundays. I understand the NFL's TV contracts, etc. but in this day and age there should be internet/smart tv, etc. options that don't require bending over and taking it for a cable/satellite company.

They've been talking about Toronto getting a team for a long time now, hopefully Buffalo moves there then I'll get to see the Buffalo-Dolphins game most seasons. And I believe NFL football is pretty big here in Canada, not many follow the off season as much but most sport fans have a team they follow at least.

I think if you got your own team, own colors, logo, the whole thing, you all would be all about it, there's a foundation of people with knowledge of the game, and if you give a big city like that who get their own team, I don't see how it would fail..Or why they don't press for it.

    Call directv.

They are giving away the farm. I just got The Ticket Max (with Redzone and internet streaming) fully credited to my account.

I enjoy having Rewind to watch the Dolphins.

But, I am addicted to Red Zone. Can't stop watching the best TV innovation in years. :)

Nice. I didn't get it free but Max half off with all premium channels free for six months. I subscribe to HBO always and add others here and there anyway. It ends up working out with me slightly ahead

    Yup. Red zone is amazing

I don't like how DirecTV puts red zone for Max only because it is a must have. I don't watch on mobile or shortcuts or anything like that.

Called DirecTV yesterday (I'm still under contract) and they'd only knock $48 off the base package...I told 'em to kill it, so they did. We'll see how it goes from here...I'm patient.

Meh, too much for me in NY. We get the MIA-NYJ games on TV, the other primetime games, and usually another 1 or 2 games they might put on like MIA-NE if the Jets are on a bye. Figure 4 or 5 games on local TV...so 200 dollars for the rest is a lot.

Can find a pretty good online stream or go to a bar for the rest of the games.

That's a pretty good amount more than I get in San Antonio w/o the Ticket. I figure half-off ($20 a month for 6 months) is acceptable.

My issue with that is sitting in a bar for 3 hours. I'm going to get food and beer and end up spending $40

You do that 5 times and your just about at what you would have spent to watch it in your living room.

Plus.... If you are married, spending money on the ticket means you can justifiably block off your Sundays for football watching. Otherwise you would just be wasting money

From what I have read they just ask for your address and if it's an apartment address you are in business. Hopefully thats the case..

I'm wondering if they'll cancel it if they figure out you lied.

My sister actually goes to Harvard, so I'm planning on having "her" sign up for this. Using my address.

I doubt they would bother. They would have to prove you didn't move or something. I dont think they care to be honest just a way of "encouraging folks to get direct TV. Either way they are making money..

If I remember correctly the same disclaimer was with the Madden deal last year too and they didn't even ask.

I think alot of it has to do with the culture of the population in Toronto. I think an NFL team could survive because its a market that is close enough to the US that the NFL is already a very familiar name, the business sector in Toronto would gobble up all the tickets much like they do for the Maple Leafs. The big problem I see though, is the population in Toronto is quite a mix now. Toronto is the big melting pot of Canada. Actually most major Canadian cities are this way now. While they are all Canadians, they are as a result of immigration. I don't have the exact numbers, but Toronto's population is largely one now that doesn't fit the demographics of your average NFL fan anymore. Toronto has a large population of Chinese/Japanese, Lebanese, Europeans, etc, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but its just not the type of fan the NFL caters to in my opinion. Combine that with the fact that it's just not been part of their culture growing up, and the casual and average fan, or should I say resident in Toronto simply won't care. Once the businesses loose interest, it will likely fail. Unless the team is incredibly successful.
