I'd like to give big ups to Paul himself. He came in cold and handled the machinations and the egos of the league pretty well. I tip my hat to you sir.
I am not even mad that I lost the Free Agent Steal of the Year by one vote because I voted for Earl Mitchell haha. Well deserved there
Congrats to the winners and the losers - Thanks Paul, for doing what you do! even when i was frustrated i was having a good time. Thanks everyone for your help and patience.
I'd also like to thank everyone who assisted me with Feud of the Year. Without your efforts none of this would've been possible.
Thank you for your hard work Paul. You stepped up to the plate and without you there wouldn't have been a 2014 GML. It certainly wasn't an easy task and you had more then the usual GML drama. On a different note....first time I've gone awardless since my rookie season. This makes me very angry. Next year....I'm out for blood. Thank you to those of you who did vote for and nominate me.
I forgot no one appreciated my 3-3-5 base defense last year with scheme versatility to run a 4-3 or 3-4. Ugh. #warpath.
Wow. I am shocked. Thank you guys! (I gotta find a banner maker for last years feud of the year and this years GM/Free Agent of the year). As for the prizes I'm going to change things up just slightly since things didn't go as planned for them. Since I won GM of the year and feud of the year was incredibly one sided here is how I will be doing the prizes (going out June 12th on next pay day). Rookie of the Year: RoninFin4 $25 Feud: Todd $25 GM of the Year was also supposed to win....but since I did I am going to award both runner ups with $25 each (Boik and Sports). Congrats guys. Let me know via PM whether you want your prize as a 1 year extension to your current Club Level access or whether you want it as an NFLShop Online Gift Certificate. Also, a huge shoutout to the rookies and Paul. Without both there would have been no real league this year. I hope your all back next year.
Thanks everyone for a great experience. Paul convinced me to join GML this year and I can definitely say I'll be back next year. I appreciate all the work put in by Paul and everyone else to make this happen. Mike Brown is still canoeing and could not be reached for comment, sorry.
I was sure this was the best team I was ever a part of and we couldn't even win one category, not even draft (wasn't even 2nd). :/
24 teams submitted final rosters, I believe, only 1 wasn't nominated in any category (2 others nominated in categories they may feel they'd rather not be nominated in ). So for those of you feeling the grief this morning, it could have been worse
I had a very fun year. Its a shame I got so busy towards the end and couldnt focus much on the draft. I will be back next year. Also, thanks for the votes on best O-line, I worked hard to build that unit
Thanks for yet another fun year guys (and gal). Congrats to Van on a well deserved GM of the year award, and to the rest of the winners. And a big thanks to Paul who did an outstanding job with the league.
Bull ****. lol I hate banners, in general. I have them and avatars turned off. I cant deal with the slow load times across all computers that i use to access the site. Plus it tightens up the screen less scrolling.
How does s team who downgraded their unit get voted best secondary? He had the good player's and added a guy who had a very short run of success in Tramon Williams. ...he basically traded for the worst guy in the unit and inherited the other 3. Arizona got jobbed Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I'll be back next year with some new ideas and strategies to hopefully improve upon my 2014 results. It was great working with all of you guys.
I don't recall trying to trade him during the draft. With a handful of GMs well under the cap and nothing to spend it on, I probably could've traded Tramon if I wanted to..... but what would've be the point when FA was done and I had no need for cap relief and with me obviously looking to bolster my secondary? I could've dismantled the L.O.B for good value but I decided to keep the 3 main ingredients in tact, then spent 9.5M on Tramon Williams, used a 1st rounder on a corner, and grabbed another one who would've easily been a 2nd rounder had he not been injured so late in the year. I at least used resources to ensure it remained the best secondary in the league, putz.
Yes, Tramon had such a short run of success that Fox Sports Wisconsin's "Packers Annual Checkup" gave him a B+ for the year and by midseason said he was "playing as well as he ever had" and was arguably the Packers best defender, which I guess is why Green Bay is keeping him around this year despite his hefty salary, tweedledumb. Plus he's not facing a stiff suspension like 2/3rds of your linebacking corps. At least all the members of the GM League's "Best Secondary" will like... you know... be on the field. What will 29% of your front 7 be doing?... trying to figure out how to pry off an ankle monitor?
